Pros
Excellent opportunities for working with students of many ages. I do tutoring in multiple subjects, mostly for elementary school kids. But some are 4 year olds who get play-based types of enrichment. Having an early childhood education background, I love the child-centered approach. Kids really learn best through play, so it's truly enriching to work on skills like reading, writing, and math in ways that make learning fun for kids. The owner seems really invested in providing a great educational experience and shares so many techniques for teaching and learning. You don't have to buy your own materials since everything is provided or you get reimbursed. I worked with an elementary school level learning pod during the pandemic school year when kids had to do distance learning for school. This was a unique experience that helped prepare me for my teaching career. I enjoy the opportunities for growth. The part-time work is very convenient for my school schedule.
Cons
I don't like the traffic on my commute on some days since the price of gas has increased. I do appreciate the pay for drive time and mileage between students though.
