I worked at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Middle management and upwards has some commercially strong, intelligent managers. Good to work for and great to learn from. "Great Place to Work" initiatives are great for staff buy-in and loyalty. Generally happy to promote from within. Benefits are top-notch. Flexibility with working from home etc., is brilliant.

    Cons

Often difficult to map out a career path although good support offered if you can see your next step. Middle and Senior management is great, first-line management made up of some shockingly poor choices. Could do with some more rotations to avoid feeling "stuck."

    Advice to Management

The re-alignment of the Org felt quite a lot like a cost-cutting exercise than a re-organisation, good to bear in mind if it's needed again. GPTW works great, keep the funding there. Stop cracking down on travel - appreciate it affects the bottom line but it was so key to see our customers and our wider virtual teams. The strength it adds to the bond is unbeatable. Encourage a little more working from home... - the flexibility is amazing for staff loyalty.

I have been working at Intel Corporation

    Pros

The people, the varied work and the collaboration enable good people to shine. The benefit package overall is good but not brilliant

    Cons

The politics and double standards alongside the lack of management support. The constant towering threat that your role could easily go to a low cost geography

    Advice to Management

The politics and double standards are stifling innovation and harming morale. The recent layoffs were handled with the worst levels of empathy probably ever seen in the tech industry. 30year veterans left without so much as a goodbye.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time

    Pros

Excellent investment in developing talent. A great deal of effort has gone into Gender Diversity leadership & development - especially in the US. Many opportunities for progression for the right candidates. Superb volunteer and good employee benefits programs. Flexible working etc.

    Cons

No cons. Candidates must consider that this is extremely fast paced setting and work hours generally go beyond 9-5 and can include weekend working
