Am well rid of this place

Pros

Opportunities to learn antiquated systems and software. Small shop, so there aren't too many names to learn. The CEO wanders around being smarmy. Tons of chances to practice smiling when you want to cry. Marketing buzzwords will become the bulk of your business vocabulary. Seriously though, Schreck aside, there are some worthwhile people at this company. And all of the misery and adversity does bring the team together in ways you just won't see elsewhere. Also, if you negotiate aggressively you can force them to give you a decent benefit package.

Cons

You'll be expected to work 80 hours a week for 45 hours' pay. You will be required to like it. You'll be working with outdated technology and trying to force it to do "next gen" things. You will be required to like it. You will take the blame when the technology fails to live up to whatever nonsense the sales team dreams up. You'll be required to like it. You may even be required to say thank you for it. Management will screw you out of every perk and benefit and piece of compensation that you do not fight for. You will be required to like it. You will be required to fawn over the megalomaniac CEO. You WILL be required to like it. I lasted for six years at this place. Four years later I still have a foul taste in my mouth that will not go away. Working for this company is a kind of unclean that does not wash off.

Pros

Basic medical insurance and location.

Cons

Intelemedia provides solutions for its customers but lacks internal systems and structure that would enable efficiency of internal processes to provide such services. Too many processes are manual and extremely time-consuming. People are worked to the ground and 10-12 hour days are normal for teams delivering projects. Management practices overall are reactive and ad hoc, micro-managing, with constant update meetings. Employees are not valued, encouraged, or developed. Intelemedia is still on the initial level of Capability Maturity Model. Consultants have been brought in occasionally to analyze processes but publishing results of their findings did not improve employees work environment (with software and automation) to produce higher quality product but rather imposed new processed that increased workload even more.
