Your coworkers ended up feeling like family. It was rare there were any grudges. Convenient office location. Flexible time off.

The constant fear of job cuts due to a possible buy-out/acquisition. Bonuses were becoming less frequent, or smaller in size.

You guys "Rock"! Could teach companies how to manage staff, make them feel appreciated. People who feel appreciated work harder.

The new CEO isn't friendly and the executives don't really watch out for the little guys. The company is constantly reorganizing. There is no consistency across the board for all employees, different departments have different rules.

Advice to Management

Communicate with the employees better. Provide more training for career advancement, not just for the management. Promote within the company instead of hiring outside talent.

In accounting... Us vs them mentality of management against staff, no opportunity for advancement, little opportunity for projects and the ones you may get are remedial and overly micro-managed, excessive checklists and status meetings. This was my first corporate accounting gig after audit - so while I wasn't sure what to expect on the other side after some time I realized what I was going through wasn't the norm,... having since moved on to another company (which I enjoy), it has only amplified the overall weird experience I had at Inteliquent - it seems they're looking for pure bookkeepers that don't want to challenge themselves, rather sit in the corner and crunch the numbers.

Advice to Management

Take into account the feedback you get from your staff, include those staff that are capable in some degree in the decision-making.

Pros

This company is very lean, so you can shine if you do your job well.

Cons

Fast paced environment, so training is needed to keep up with all the new things. Unfortunately, there usually is not enough time to train and get your work completed.
