I have been working at InterSystems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fantastic technology backed by very knowledge people. Very strong customer focus which allows you to perform your job effectively, and feel like you are making a difference

    Cons

Coming from a Microsoft shop previously, the lack of vast amounts of online knowledge about the products can seem limiting at first, but there is a very active small community which can help

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. The company has really gone from strength to strength in the years I have been working here

    Pros

A privilege to be part of a very highly motivated and driven bunch of technical people. "Customer Success" centric organization. Always focused on long term goal than short term gains. Very positive culture.

    Cons

Conservative. Slow adoption to some of the changes in the business world.

    Pros

Excellent colleagues, interesting technology, constantly challenged by new problems and projects. Rapidly growing with an emphasis on customer satisfaction that is paramount

    Cons

A very flat organisation, don't joint if you want to climb a management hierarchy. Emphasis on organic growth and little hierarchy means that there can be little opportunity to do other things.

    Advice to Management

continue to encourage openness and free communication. Retain a cooperative collegiate way of working as that way good things can happen

I have been working at InterSystems full-time

    Pros

The rigorous interview process mentioned several times here not only gives the company the confidence it needs to be sure it is hiring the right people - it also gives the interviewee reassurance that they are joining a serious, competent company. As significant emphasis is placed on personality type as part of the interview process, successful interviewees can also be confident that they are likely to be a good personality fit. Almost everyone in the company seems to be good, friendly, hard-working and smart.
As a relatively new member of the team I am still surprised to see so many colleagues across the company with a “can do” attitude – with many even proactively asking “can I help in any way?”. As such, in general , when help is needed, it seems to arrive.
There is a very flat structure and senior management are very approachable.

    Cons

As above everyone is hard-working and takes responsibility – obviously a good thing. As such, however, catching up on work over a weekend for example seldom clears your mailbox as everyone keeps responding!

I have been working at InterSystems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company values talents and skills over education history and experience. The management is encouraged to support their staffs development, and there is a tendency towards leniency in regards to personal life issues and similar issues. I have so far felt rewarded for my work and additional effort (especially after using my own time to benefit the company). Good quality of colleagues, very few people are difficult and many are happy to help outside of their job roles.

    Cons

Limited opportunities for promotions and it is very easy to root yourself into a position or role. Sometimes things can crop up at very short notice and inter department communication can be poor when working on shared projects.

    Advice to Management

Unity and communication needs to be encouraged between departments. Without these projects will be weaker.

I have been working at InterSystems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is a good work life balance. Office based staff arive on time and leave on time and aren't expected to work outside of these hours. Good holiday allowance, sick pay and pays above the average. Everyone is very friendly. Office is kept very clean, modern facilities and very spacious with alot of desk space.

    Cons

The environment can be a little quiet and there is not much of a social scene outside of the office.

I have been working at InterSystems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

InterSystems has very talented & intelligent employees working here, this is mostly down to the difficult but effective Recruitment pre screening and testing. The Company has grown significantly the last 6 years but has stayed true to its values and is still a very great place to work which talented employees are recognised and grow quickly.

Expectations are high at InterSystems but so are the rewards.

    Cons

I wish that Work/Life Balance could be a little better. Flexible working hours should be more acceptable in all departments.

    Advice to Management

Respect each employee as you would like to be treated..

I have been working at InterSystems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working for InterSystems is a very big commitment. It is a demanding company. When you take on the commitment and the responsibility InterSystems offers you an exceptionally high degree of freedom to do your job in return. You are allowed to be very creative in your role, you feel fully supported by management to experiment, test markets and value proposition and you are allowed to deliver the results in your own unique way.
The technology offer is currently unique in the market. The results achieved mainly in Healthcare have a dramatic effect on healthcare services, medical research, and many other related fields.
InterSystems is a true customer-centric organisation. To my knowledge, InterSystems is the only company were the customer decides when an issues is dealt with to a satisfactory level. We are allowed to spend time with customer to get to know them, forge long-lasting relationships and help them with their challenges. We are allowed to walk away from business if there is no perfect fit. InterSystems can select its customers and choose the companies to work with because the company is stable, cash rich and performing well financially.
InterSystems is the only corporation that has delivered a very high personal job satisfaction and its strategies feel in line with my personal beliefs and values

    Cons

InterSystems is also a conservative company with slow adoption rate for changes which is very frustrating at times.
Because of the freedom that everyone has to do their job, you need very developed people skills and be very able to negotiate. You need quite a lot of patience at times.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your own advise about innovating, breakthrough changes. Adopt internal changes faster.
