I worked at Intuit full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great culture and live the values they preached as a company most of the time which is quite rare! - Great bunch of people to work with - the majority of them are genuinely good and talented people - Quite a few social events driven by a dedicated engager team which provide a nice outlet for every department to spend time together - The UK is knowing its best period of growth and it the place to be within Intuit as it is the fastest growing market outside the US - Inspirational CEO - Good benefit package and compensation

    Cons

    - Data systems are very frustrating to work with as they are very slow to adapt to changes and some systems are simply outdated - The culture has changed in the last 6 months, specially in the UK marketing team. Performance have become more important than cultural fit - as long as you get the numbers it does not matter how you do it, who you disrespect or how you treat your peers to get there - you will be immune to feedback! - There are currently no good people mangers left in the UK marketing team (with the exception of one or two individuals) - despite providing feedback it does not seem to unfortunately make a difference as the people responsible for staff leaving or being renowned to be difficult to work with are still in place and are given countless "second chances" and in some cases even more people to manage - To get promoted it's more to do now with who you know and how loud you shout about yourself or how much noise you make rather than your hard work paying off - No stability - during my time I have seen countless people leave the UK marketing team from top to bottom, the staff turnover over is quite telling that something is wrong within the marketing middle management. I think partly because people development is completely a hit and miss as some people "leaders" have been elevated beyond their capabilities

    Pros

Amazing work. Pay for performance. Super smart people.

    Cons

Sometimes middle management gets stuck because leaders can’t get aligned to one intuit priorities. I see this looking up though with the roll out of betterment and more cross-company op-mechs.

I have been working at Intuit full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Really live their values, high on integrity and doing right by customers & employees first. Great culture with people who really want to make a difference. Benefits outside of cash compensation are great. Innovation and bold leaps are encouraged, celebrated

    Cons

Middle management too protected and empowered. Taking in world class talent at the bottom and best of the best make it to the top, but the middle if full of org structures that can be their own toxic pits. One bad leader and your comp, career outlook, and day to day life sucks...Pretend to care about employee opinion/feedback, but no serious changes are made to fix known issues. Also lots of legacy technology and thinking, manual processes live for decades.

I have been working at Intuit full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Employee friendly policies and culture - Good WLB - Strong, inspiring exec leaderships, takes right big bet calls - Executive push for strong SWE culture, related investments in developer tooling - Ethical , fair , and considerate immigration support - Lot of goodwill for flagship products, real tangible impact to people's financial lives. You can take pride that you are making a difference

    Cons

    - Senior/Middle management sucks, very territorial - Cross boundary, inter -disciplinary work difficult, even though senior exec support. Thats because territorial point above. Cross collaboration attempts perceived as threats rather than opportunity, even though the official spin is other way around - Too much effort in planning, less on executing. Every year there is new buzzword. There seems to be new 3 year plan every 6 months. - too much emphasis on "wow effect", "shiny objects" in SWE outputs. Rigorous engineering, real scientific investigations are not acknowledged/rewarded , even internally my management, unless there is some external (to team) wow event.

I worked at Intuit full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    * Competitive Salary and Benefits * Good insurance * Fun perks and programs, including fitness, health, and discount tickets/rates * Nice campuses

    Cons

    * There is a LOT of middle management and politics ... don't expect to be cared about as an individual * You will find yourself stuck in the middle ... they can't decide if they want to be big corp or small start-up - it affects everything * Moving up in your career is more about who know and who is looking out for you than what you can deliver ... even if you move up, expect setbacks * It is not remote worker friendly ... policies will change and possibly impact how much you travel or if you can even keep your position * You are judged for how much extra time you do or don't put in ... you are expected to make sacrificies (consistently) to spend extra hours delivering for them * They ARE a big corp and you are ultimately just a number ... expect to be impacted by downsizing, restructuring, etc.
