I have been working at InvestCloud full-time

    Pros

None to mention, met a few nice people who share my opinion and made friends

    Cons

Absolutely Crazy timelines, you are given unrealistic projects which have been pre defined by the sales teams and deadlines added with no delivery team opinion. Horrible change management! There is a large dependency on a few “experts” to change anything or implement what is sold to the client. The so called “experts” have little to no financial knowledge or understanding of technical architecture. The least you would expect them to know if how their current product works which is also not the case for many of them. So the experts don’t really have an “expertise”. If one of them goes on vacation then nothing gets done until they get back because nobody is confident enough to make a decision. Very high dependency among executives. Executives are not really executives and they are made to work on projects. This creates a very unhealthy work environment full of pressure and basically prioritisation for the project that they work on. Project teams are not set up for success, there is no escalation process. Constantly under resourced because nobody sticks around to finish a job as they are burnt out. Long hours is an everyday thing and doesn’t work if you have a personal life Management is very bad at finding these core issues, even if a lot of the employees have already brought this up to them. There is no HR, no one to take your concerns to outside of your direct superior. This creates pressure and constant disappointment Sales and project teams have no co ordination, the product is sold to clients like it is some sort of plug and play which leads the client to have unrealistic expectations which are almost never met then leading to unhappy employees, management and clients. Primitive tech stack and product that is not scalable. Back end security is almost never followed and used properly and nobody really cares unless they fail a penetration test. Limited flexibility in product enhancements and lots of push back for any changes “not the Investcloud way”. New ideas aren’t encouraged, most back end calculations are incorrect and inadequate testing has led this to be in all sorts of production environments Back end testing is a joke, release management is a non existent team releasing every week which basically allows for 2 days of testing and bug fixing for things where there is no QA team. No impact analysis done, basically a small note is written that says no impact and merged. most employees are directly out of boot camps and mostly starting. Front end dev is limited and there is almost nothing you can do using the unusable excel tool. It does create screens fast but it’s advantages are far from being worth the limitations. This is the PWP program which is more of a WordPress for building out front end screens. Front end devs are freshers and try to learn this tool which is basically useless to their career outside of Investcloud Code reviews, spec reviews, implementation opinions. A lot of people have a lot of opinions on implementation most of which ends up being wrong. This is because of a lack of knowledge retaining since there is a very high turnover ratio There is people leaving every other day and some of them I know do good work. One of the reasons is always about the crazy hours. Product is limited, could be better if they introduce new ideas. Weekend work is constant to try and make your delivery timeline meet. You basically cannot take any holidays or sick leaves because there is no other resources. Product is either generally undersold to clients or the management is cheap which creates a very small budget for Project Managers and they are unable to manage the resources or afford any more people. The compensation and benefits are too low for the effort.

I worked at InvestCloud full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great people - some of the best I have ever worked with, people genuinely want you to succeed and hardly any office politics Table football in the office Design team create some great UI prototypes Innovative office space and regular social events

    Cons

Technology is not robust, scalable or sustainable (proprietary). Keeps breaking and only a few people in the company know how to fix issues. Management do not appreciate the issues in delivery and are unwilling to resolve them. Focus needs to be on improving process, establishing if an idea/project is feasible (i.e. do we have the budget, product and resources) rather than just trying to please the client. Work life balance is not good. Expected to work very long hours for no appreciation (due to the above issue). Sales team don't seem to understand the capabilities of delivery team, results in over promising work to clients and not enough sales engagement throughout delivery lifecycle. Unfortunately a lot of the negative reviews on this site are true including high turnover rate. Upper management are too stretched/overworked or too far removed from delivery process to understand the reality.

    I worked at InvestCloud full-time

    Pros

Really interesting product, strong appetite on behalf of the customer. Innovation Centre onsite. Perks such as cool office location, beer fridge, pizzas on a Friday.

    Cons

The most toxic work environment i've ever experienced, and I worked in many offices over the years. Everyone is scared witless by management, who will swear and shout you down if you disagree. Weekly training sessions take place, however rather than discussing challenges as a team, it's a teacher-student dynamic where you will be asked a question on the spot, and made to put your hand up to provide an answer. 100% like being in school, which may work ok for an intern, fresh out of Uni, but not for a seasoned professional who flourishes from working in a more respectful environment, an environment where a different opinion or outlook is actually welcomed. I would often look around the room, and see fear and dread in my work colleagues who would try their best to fly under the radar, or throw someone else under the bus to protect their own skin. Prepare to be micro-managed, regardless of experience or track record. Trust is earned and not given. Any sales methodologies you've used before are no longer required as you'll be taught 'The InvestCloud way' and will be reprimanded if you don't use it. Everything is policed, down to ensuring you put your glass on the appropriate shelf in the dishwasher - otherwise you'll be made an example of. No work/life balance whatsoever, lots of calls scheduled for the evening and expected to give up weekends for travel. I honestly implore you to avoid this place at all costs.

I worked at InvestCloud full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Many awesome and smart people Nice office. Culture is very client focused and strives to give the client the best experience which I believe is a key to a company's success. Company is well known on the market. Worked with an amazing manager. You get to work with world class asset management companies

    Cons

The whole client experience culture is taken to an extreme disregarding the employee's well being. You are constantly being told you're part of something bigger, which is mostly just pep talk for all the stress employees are put under. Not many paid holidays. Unpaid overtime (which is almost everyday). Not keeping up with new technologies. Unprofessional behaviour: new starters are made fun of by friends of the CTO. Half of a work day would be spent fixing the internal excel tool and long release times, which is why every week you have to stay over the clock. As the previous reviewer stated: "Investcloud isn't for everyone". I totally agree. In my opinion, it's a place for workaholics and people who don't have much of a personal life because you're expected to be available anytime. Our team was always under a lot of unnecesary pressure and the atmosphere was most of the times grim.

I have been working at InvestCloud full-time for more than a year

    Pros

InvestCloud is a great place to start ones career. The Front End Development role is not exactly what you'd expect, in that you really only implement themes and use CSS and HTML. However there are many options for career changes and growth in the company.

    Cons

Front End Developer role is basically a pseudo-coding position. It's more like implementing themes and using CSS.
