Pros

Some of these points might not sound like your typical pros, but they are just some insights from personal experience: 1. The salary is always paid on time, they also offer health insurance benefits, flexible work hours, a casual work atmosphere, WFH options and yearly team outings. While not all perks may apply to every employee, they are available (for a select few). 2. Building rapport with key decision makers (not hard to find) can foster career growth and financial rewards (for a select few). 3. Family run business: Maintaining professional boundaries with co-workers and management while focusing on your performance can contribute to a positive work experience (for a select few).

Cons

1. Individuals seeking career growth and experience, especially in non-financial teams, may find that ithought is not the best fit. Management actively supports employees in financial roles by providing opportunities to learn and grow through events, classes, and certifications. However, there appears to be a lack of similar support for non-financial teams, which could be a drawback for those looking to develop their skills and advance in their careers. 2. Employees in non-financial roles may be assigned additional tasks to juggle beyond their usual responsibilities. The company seems to expect its employees to wear multiple hats, and perhaps even some safety gear, to get the job done. Make sure you carefully assess the workload before taking on extra tasks to avoid burnout. 3. Having a good manager is key to a successful career and thriving at ithought. Some teams benefit from experienced leaders, while others, well, let's just say their managers haven't exactly ventured beyond the company walls. They might not even recognize a new trend if it bit them. This lack of exposure can seriously limit growth opportunities for both the managers and the employees under their supervision. 4. Raises and bonuses at ithought seem like a mystery and lack transparency. This is because there is a discrepancy between my experience and that of some colleagues. Unlike some of my colleagues, I haven't received timely raises and bonuses despite consistent performance. This lack of clarity is concerning. There's a feeling that raises and bonuses might be more about who you know than what you do. 5. Reviews are like first impressions – they give you a glimpse, but not the whole picture. Positive reviews are great but take them with a pinch of salt (unless it's flavoured with that raise you haven't gotten). Do your research, talk to people, and see if your thoughts truly align with your career goals. As the reviewer (yours truly), I wouldn't recommend ithought for non-financial roles. But hey, that's from my personal experience and perspective. Maybe you'll be the one to crack the code and unlock the golden ticket at ithought. Just remember, proceed with caution!

Pros

Timely salary Ideal for freshers who would like to learn about financial planning, equity research & stock markets Flexible work timings & wfh options

Cons

As a fresher, you should give this place a go for a year or two. It's a great chance to learn about office politics, master the art of pleasing the management, & figure out how to succeed with minimal effort. Note - try not to vent or overshare with your colleagues, as everyone is looking for recognition & rewards.

Not a great place to work

Pros

Worked at ithought for 4 years, and I have to say that I really enjoyed working with my coworkers, and made some good friends. But I would never work here again.

Cons

I never received a raise in 4 years. There are very few opportunities for growth, and you are expected to work for long hours and on weekends, without any compensation. The management is also very biased towards certain employees, every time the company had a meeting about salary hikes, it felt like they were playing favorites. Some employees receive great benefits packages every year, but it's not worth it for what you have to put up with. It's hard for me to put into words how bad it is to work here. But personally, it's a nightmare and I would recommend that no one apply here if they want the best for themselves.
