I worked at J. Crew part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The brand is cool and every sales associate will get free outfits for work. It was a good place to work part time while studying.

    Cons

Working hours were not great, the store closes at 8pm but the last shift has two hours of folding to do afterwards.

I worked at J. Crew part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great atmosphere. Informative meetings about seasonal trends and company updates. Brilliant discounts for employees. Supportive management (oftentimes they brought snacks to share).

    Cons

Hectic schedule for part-time employees. No pay for on-call days. Cut hours due to slow sales days. Quality depreciation made it more challenging for customers to buy/keep the merchandise and harder to hit sales goals.

I worked at J. Crew part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Lots of amazing associates and coworkers. Managers are pretty laid back at times. Customers were pretty great so far! Overall, I love the culture that was created at our specific store in NYC. Everything comes down to who management is and who your coworkers are. Thankfully J.Crew was able to implement a level of leniency and care for their employees so that management can (hopefully) make the best of the situation. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for part-time work while they go to school.

    Cons

Schedule is dependent on multiple factors, hours are not always consistent like every retail job. Customers can sometimes be difficult (not always).

I worked at J. Crew part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible Working Hours, it payed above average for a part time college job.

    Cons

As I was a low level employee (a job while in college) the other individuals there tended to be irresponsible. They pushed us heavily to sell credit cards to unsuspecting patrons, which is horrible. You should never get a credit card to buy clothes. So, I always got harped on for not selling them. Expect this company to go out of business soon, if they aren't already. Amazon is a monster that will consume us all. Vae victis.
