    I worked at J D Wetherspoon part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The staff discount, some of the co-workers are nice, pay is decent.

    Cons

Long hours, dealing with scummy customers, because everything is so cheap, some of the management are: "power-tripped" and think they own the place. For the amount of stuff you have to deal with it isn't worth the hassle.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees "on the ground" and try and force the issue of having a positive work-life balance. Which could be achieved by recruiting more staff and this will reduce the long hours that some staff have to do

    I worked at J D Wetherspoon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good training Easy jobs Great co-workers Benefits (free food, discounts for you and friends...)

    Cons

Customers can be pain Starting at “4”hrs contracts even when applied for full time (however I’ve been upgraded to 28hr contract few months after. ) Personal life vs work balance (you locking up the pub two days in a row, finishing 2am and then do opens two days later at 7am? Messes up your body clock)
