    I worked at J D Wetherspoon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Weekly wage, Staff, Discount, Learn to be a microwave chef. Learning curve of how a companies shouldn't be running.

    Cons

Management, Favouritism, Victimisation, Harassment, Food Health and Hygiene, Constant Shift change. Company looks to screw over monthly bonus. No appreciation. Management have personal vendetta's to anyone who questions them. Apply to be Bar/Kitchen staff when really your a glorified cleaner.

    Advice to Management

Change Manager to someone who doesn't hold personal grudges against staff for petty things and forces them out like a child being told off, Area manager that won't turn a blind eye to bullying.

I have been working at J D Wetherspoon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Given the opportunity to progress at a young age and was mentored by excellent managers who care. The next step allows me to attend a catering academy paid for by J.D Wetherspoon.

    Cons

Often made to work long and unsociable hours sometimes starting at 4am! Some employees have bad attitudes which brings morale down leading to standards slipping.

    Advice to Management

Listen to other managers advice and use feedback effectively. Always maintain a good positive attitude as your attitude will effect you whole teams.

I have been working at J D Wetherspoon for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible hours, transfers always available, people orientated, learning opportunities, customer care, employee care

    Cons

Sometimes there's a lack of care on the employees position in awkward or difficult positions with customers who're angry or unsatisfied and blaming the associates/team in abusive manners.

    Advice to Management

Have meetings with associates and team leaders, or the whole team to really dig into what employees and customers want rather than what the marketing team think or believe.

    I worked at J D Wetherspoon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Half break paid, decent amount of time on break. Over 6 hours - 30 minutes, over 8.5 hours - 45 minutes. 50% off food on shift. Comfortable staff area - with TV.

    Cons

Cliquey management and staff. Discount not the best compared to other hospitality companies. Expected to do too much and are extremely overworked.

    Advice to Management

Set more of a stepping stone process to move from associate to team leader. It feels as if your progression is based on what managers you are friends with instead of on merit. Stop allowing staff to drink in their work environment, many times it becomes uncomfortable for the staff working and it also gives off a bad impression to customers.

I have been working at J D Wetherspoon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible hours and work around your academic schedule Good work environment Friendly staff Fun atmosphere on peak nights in Lloyds Bars with the music

    Cons

Late nights, might not start until 10pm and finish at 4am. However this tends to be for new starters. Once you become more experienced you will be given more hours if wanted Have to deal with rude and drunk customers Quick turnover of staff

    Advice to Management

Training should be more comprehensive, sometimes expected to know how to do tasks which may seem basic but needs some simple instruction the first time. However this is currently being worked on so should see improvements

    Pros

There's not much to say about the pros. The pay is okay but not worth the stress. Food discount is okay too.

    Cons

Hours are bad, management is hit or miss, the environments are dreary, the customers are horrible. There's a bigger list
