    Pros

Diverse projects and various tasks gives employees good knowledge of different industries. As an Account Executive in the client servicing department, you will be expected to become an expert on all sorts of businesses your clients operate in, whether its personally relevant to you or not. This provides a great opportunity to get introduced to different brands and industries and grows you as a well-rounded and informed...

    Cons

Depending on the size of the office in your city, you might find yourself dealing with a large number of clients, which although is a good experience, might be extremely overwhelming and pressuring. Similar to most successful advertising agencies, the working hours are extremely long. If you're looking for a 9-5 job, then JWT (and advertising in general) is definitely not the place to go. Similar to many agency jobs...

I worked at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Big name in the advertising industry

    Cons

No work life balance whatsoever. You should only work here if you want to/have nothing else to do in life because that is what they expect. Also no promotions, hire and fire culture, perpetual freeze on new hires so work keeps piling on the existing staff, bad relationships with the clients and I can go on...

I worked at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Free drinks on Fridays, a few great people.

    Cons

Zero work life balance. Company refuses to pay overtime, disregarding the fact that it's against Ontario law. The idea that "advertising is not a 9-5" is brainwashed into all employees. Direct management has no say in employees growth, and upper management doesn't care about the small fries leaving many people to settle for less. No raises, no bonus structure, no acknowledgement...

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees - actually listen - and then fix the problems. Not everyone is replaceable. Your clients see the mess firsthand and aren't impressed. The bottom line won't mean much with no staff to bring in revenue.

I worked at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Staff benefits are not bad. Work life balance in sg

    Cons

Own department staff were rather selfish to teach. Bonus based on how much the boss like you instead of your performance. No jobs prospect. Too politics in the environment. Too admin jobs

    Advice to Management

Listen to younger generations opinions too. Don't think that employees stay the longer are the best of all.
