I worked at JD Sports Fashion part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent hours every week, around 25 over three days.
    - Staff team were always friendly, never had any problems.
    - Weekly pay.

    Cons

    - Wages were awful, £4.27 an hour at the age of 16-17 is ridiculous.
    - Long days, monotonous roles to be done with no real progression into the job unless you were there for at least 3 years +.
    - Could be stressful, particularly around Christmas.

    Advice to Management

Progression with staff would really help moral and motivation. Too many employees - particularly young members of staff - who wanted to progress but felt like they were stuck in the same role for too long.

  3. "Too much favouritism by area management"

I have been working at JD Sports Fashion full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Training is very thorough
    Knowledgable Managers
    Discount

    Cons

    Dreadful rates of pay
    No staff appreciation
Favouritism by area management towards internal management - External managers forgotten about.
    Inconsistent Discipline policy.
Expect staff, often under 18s on £4.75ph, to chase after shoplifters.
Most management are too young and don’t have the relevant experience.
JD always look to take the most extreme action against their staff so you are in constant fear that one mistake could be detrimental to your job.

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff with respect and reward them for their hardwork! You’re one of the only retailers to be making a substantial profit. Invest some of it back in to your staff to thank them for their hardwork.

I worked at JD Sports Fashion (Less than a year)

    Pros

discount on products, experience with customer service, good exercise when busy,
good as a first time job, lots of team work to be done.

    Cons

low wage £4. 75 per hr if 16 yrs old, small bonus over xmas and new year.

    Advice to Management

It's their business as to how they want it run. But really good sales staff will most likely move on once they have experience with better pay, which is a bit of a shame.

    Pros

Good working environment, great team, helpful managers, and overall, a fun place to work. Moreover, the pay is good and hours flexible.

    Cons

I would not say that there are many cons. Maybe the only one I can think of is the lack of certain stock,

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to take a closer look at what stock is selling and make sure this is replenished asap
