      Pros

-25% discount -Meeting new people -Exciting to work in footwear department

      Cons

-Poor management (incorrect observations, immense amount of pressure put on you considering it’s minimum wage, intimidating tone, not very understanding and are unapologetic when they make a mistake themselves) -Discount only available after 3 months of working there -Low pay (£4.57 for under 18, £6 for 18+) -Expected to do more hours than your contract states -Unpaid breaks -Lots of gossip in the workplace especially from the older employees 25+ -Very stressful -Expected to do a lot of cleaning (including cleaning toilets, they don’t employ any cleaners to do this as far as I’m aware so it’s left to the sales assistants) -Slow technology (scanners system often went down mid serving making you look bad to the customer, no wifi provided for staff on breaks)

Don't work for them, not worth the money.

      Pros

Discounts and that is literally all I can think of. I basically just switch off my brain when I work there. Practically lose brain cells evey second I've worked there.

      Cons

They hire kids and pay them £4, then hire a few adults 18-22 to basically look after them. Like they are kids, of course they will act like that. What on earth did yous expect. Also they pay minimum wage & for the things you have to do, its not worth it at all

Manual admin with fake promises of progression, great if you have 0 career ambitions

      Pros

25% discount and a cheap canteen

      Cons

      - Pay works out at minimum wage for 25+, and not much more for 21+ - The office is also a pretty horrible place to visit, surprisingly dated to say how fancy JD stores are - Micro-management - Toxic culture, with high-pressure on medial tasks - If you're a graduate, you will not be challenged in terms of ability - everything you do is very simple just very laborious - Fake promises of progression (Despite proving to managers I'd accomplished everything on the job description to progress and constant 'support' and reassurance that promotion would be 6-12months after starting from them, no opportunities arose after 14/15months working there) - Lots of administrative and boring tasks that take lots of time to little effect for the business (nothing that couldn't be done without better systems) - The amount of revenue the company makes masks what is a very uninspiring place to work, with little time for progressive thinking and people quite happily following dated processes
