    Pros

    - Big company so potential to see a really wide range of departments
    - Undergraduate scheme improved a lot in the last couple of years with more site visits and tours as well as a week shadowing someone in a different department

    Cons

    - Not always much technical work available, lots of project management

I have been working at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The product mix has grown rapidly, both in terms of breadth and volume, so there is plenty of opportunities cropping up all the time. Pay is good, pension is decent. Exciting to be involved with high end product trying to grab market share from the big 3

    Cons

Rapid growth means there can be teething problems - teams workload growing faster than headcount, not getting to robustly learn lessons before the next program is already on top of you etc.

    Advice to Management

As the growth spurt is probably starting to slow, it's time to start looking at restructuring to make the best use of everyone's talents and prevent people getting stuck or bored

    - High levels of absenteeism

    Advice to Management

    - Improvement in communication

I have been working at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great products, lots of opportunities, fantastic package in terms of sick leave, maternity/parental leave.

    Cons

Not very flexible in terms of contracts, for instance, have to work 5 days, min of 7 hours per day etc etc, where as I think there are many ways to work 40 hours across the week and maintain productivity

    Advice to Management

Look at more flexible working practices to support family life.

I worked at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great product, 'some' great people.

    Cons

    Duplication of roles and responsibilities.
Expansion is heralded as a great thing, but the reality is there is no recruitment or organisational strategy so managers/departments keep recruiting when skills already exist in the organisation.
Everyone aspires to reach LL5 and get their hands on a Range Rover Sport.
Benefits at Senior Management level lock these managers into the business as they could never afford a £100k car (changed every 6 months) in any other business. As a result, Managers keep their heads down and don't rock the boat in fear of losing the benefits. Managers approach is all about self interest and not actually achieving anything tangible.
Culture - unfortunately there are some 'not very nice' people in the business (but thankfully only a handful.
    Processes are awful.
Too much 'business speak'- like being in an episode of W1A

    Advice to Management

Take a step back and look at the structure of your business.
Centralise support functions and give ownership to 'a' group rather than many doing the same job. (Never come across a business with so many 'Change Managers/Transformation Managers in my entire life)

I have been working at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Diversity of opportunities available, both within function and across functions.
The overhaul of people development committees in finance has put individuals in charge of their careers - this has been a positive step forward for me.

    Cons

Parking is a challenge at most sites, and this adds significant time to the working day. Conversely - it is the result of the tremendous growth JLR has undergone, and I can only feel positive about that success!

    Advice to Management

Address business behaviours that fall short of JLR's core values consistently. Any examples of such behaviours should be managed timely in order to prevent them becoming accepted and an individual's norm .

    Pros

    Nice cars, nice design, innovative

    Cons

Bad management, very old style (show the badge) instead of inspiring leadership. Non-motivational, lack of recognition, except for the apple polisher's.

    Advice to Management

    Renew the company management.

I have been working at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Having worked for the Company for many years, I have been witness to the growing number of opportunities for women in our workplace. Women are more valued and encouraged to develop to the best of their ability than ever before

    Cons

Work life balance is a difficult balance in such a face paced organisation that is constantly changing

    Advice to Management

Continue to nurture the developing workforce whilst valuing and recognising the contribution of the more experienced skilled members of the organisation
