I have been working at Japan Tobacco International full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

good salary, relocation opportunities, world wide presence.

    Cons

JTI has announced a wide transformation that will last for 2 more years. Nearly 4000 people are made redundant. Strangely enough those are mostly the Do-ers. The management (and top management) remains intact. Has become highly political and CYA - enforced by the transformation. The reputation is going low, only sporadic long term opportunities for the moment. You shuold wait 2021 to start being interested in JTI again.

I have been working at Japan Tobacco International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great career and development plans with a lot of international opportunities to grow. Great benefits, specially the company car benefit.

    Cons

A lot of micromanagement from director and above levels which create a lot of unnecessary pressure and stress. Sometimes people leave the company with no transparency.

I worked at Japan Tobacco International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Truly global. Good opportunity to advance and learn.

    Cons

Poor regional and local markets management. Big differences between working environments in different markets. Lots of subjectivity. Senior management is extremely cautious about their own positions rather than the business.

I have been working at Japan Tobacco International full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Offers very good benefits, job security ,learning opportunities and some interesting projects if you are willing to travel. People are nice. Good company to work for if you don't mind very slow progress.

    Cons

Organic resistance to change, very little flexibility for today's market challenges. Dominated by politics at all levels. Very little appreciation of individual performance. Not many career opportunities. IT very far from own stated values: Enterprising, Open, Challenging.
