            Pros

I was with Jefferson Wolfe from I was 17/18 years old, with little to no recruitment experience. I was mentored by some really amazing people when I first joined and part of that moulded me into the business man I am today at 22. In my time I’ve worked for the bigger recruitment firms and they don’t compare to the family like culture that was almost mandatory at JW. Not to be to personal but when I was going through something close to home not only was I provided with the time necessary that I needed to be away from work but I was also treated as a son/little brother during that time. Fast forward a couple years, my last stint at JW I sat with the director who at this point was like my father and I made it clear that I wanted to spread my wings and go off on my own, I had his full support then & I still have it now till this day.

            Cons

Sometimes being a small business you tend to trust the wrong people, JW have a heart of gold but in some cases that isn’t best for a business as people will join with their own agenda and don’t actually care about the growth of business.

              Pros

              - Worked with some exceptionally talented people who understood the ins and outs of recruitment and the tech industry. - Working with quality clients across Europe. - Second to none training programs that were unrivaled to anything I had ever experienced before. - Great atmosphere amongst the teams. Collaboration across teams/accounts and a sense of winning together, losing together. - Clear progression paths were outlined by the managers and directors with a clear feedback cycle that allowed for continuous improvement and self-development. - Commission structure was clear and achievable. - Incentives were a lot of fun and sometimes spontaneous which always excited the teams. Overall I really valued you my time at JW it offered me the platform to achieve my career goals. Yes at times there were some challenges, however, with the support network in place internally those were easily overcome and I was set up for success. I don't think I would have been able to achieve what I have in the industry with out the foundational knowledge and experiences at JW.

              Cons

              - Work-life balance would be the only negative I could mention but it's not anything unusual in the agency world.

                  Pros

Having worked for many agencies, I have seen first hand how they shouldn't be run. Jefferson Wolfe is how they should be. Great energy and enthusiasm in the office. Good perks and commission and a CEO that has not only been there and done it but let's you get on with things like it's your own business. He is also pretty good at Tennis. The best thing about working there was the team which was a bunch of like minded people with the same goal. I only left because I landed my dream job in another industry and even though they were sad to see me go the supported my decision and I have remained friends to this day with most of the team.

                  Cons

I still miss lunch club and the annual trips.

This is a business with an excellent support structure. I’ve learnt loads in the 3 years that I’ve been in the business and feel that there has been plenty of support during this time. Especially during the difficult year of Covid. The team are great, and those who are truly engrained into the business have helped me to develop into a food recruitment consultant. Good commission, training and support.

I have a 5 year gap in my work history due to an illness. How do I explain this? I can't lie, SSD is on my background check as a previous employer. I am on it and looking to re-enter the job market and get off of it, but I understand it is a reason for employers to pause in hiring me.

How do you interview for a position when you are under-qualified based on seniority but not based on skills? I currently serve as a senior associate for a reputable consulting firm, and I have an interview for an associate director position. However, I am just shy of the minimum YOE requirement included on the job application and relatively young (though I meet all of the other requirements). Any advice on convincing the hiring manager I am ready for a mid-level role?

Had 4 behavioral interviews for a position last week. Last Friday (which was the last of the four interviews), the interviewer spent most of the interview selling me on the job and didn't ask me any questions. She ended the interview by saying she thinks I am confident and would be a great fit for the role. I took this as a good sign but giving it's 2023 you never truly know. Has anyone ever had an interviewer do something similar and not gotten the job?
