      Pros

Brilliant company all the way to the top, senior management in head office are very supportive. I worked in Nottingham and London Oxford street stores as well as helping out at stores all over the country and joined the amazing Academy team where there is an opportunity for everyone to inspire and train hundreds of aspiring photographers. In the 3+ years I was there, the managers did a great job at hiring creative and talented staff. Work hard and you will get far.

      Cons

Requires commitment to the role but this should be expected in any job anywhere.

A good place to work, though head office should listen to staff on the shop floor a bit more.

      Pros

I really enjoyed working for Jessops. A great team to work with in the shop. A good atmosphere was present and people enjoyed using and selling camera equipment.

      Cons

The pay could have been better (having said that I was given a pay rise when I didn't even ask for one). Store managers swapped too often which was maybe the result of head office being too demanding.

If you love photography and cameras it's the place for you, getting to grips with the latest tech and gear and talking about it all day long Keeping film photography and print alive opportunities to work in the Academy

      Cons

Low pay for the amount of responsibility for the team leader retail work means you don't get much of a weekend, ever Vague contract Interference from area managers and head office, who don't know how different stores work

      Long hours, low pay

      Pros

You get to meet interesting people. Money off cameras and accessories. Free printing service when the managers off. Staff have similar interests in photography.

      Cons

Very long hours for minimum wage. Zero hours contracts as well. Boring work day when few customers come in. No phones allowed at all for the lower employees. Head office and the web team are completely useless and the sales assistants are the ones who get to deal with the complaints. Always being told to boost sales and add ons which is incredibly hard when no customers come through the door.

      Pros

Small store so few employees, banter was exceptional and great fun. Store manager was mellow enough, let you have fun given you didn't take the mick. Opportunity to play and learn about new camera's, hands on, Annual conference for Manager + 1 great fun!

      Cons

Lack of store structure, no job route potentials, very KPI/Add on Sales focused, head office don't have a clue what you're up to in the stores - they are about as useful as the first R in February.
