    I worked at JetBlue part-time

    Pros

    - Flexible - Work from home - Free flights - Awesome benefits, even for part-time.

    Cons

    - Low pay. For everything we do and new systems being learned and the constant change of the airline industry, it was extremely low start out pay. - Work from home. I listed this for both a pro and a con because it was unfortunately the biggest reason I left. It's very isolating, especially for a young, single adult with no other huge responsibilities and my only source of income being this job. It definitely works for...

I have been working at JetBlue part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flying benefits: Free standby on JetBlue and discounted on other airlines. Great mid-level supervisors. Ability to trade schedules with other agents when operations are normal.

    Cons

Schedules are terrible including holidays and weekends. When irregular operations you are forced to work overtime. No employee development, no career advancement opportunities or culture. Overwhelming majority of supervisors and management are women, there is a clear bias to hire and promote women (nothing against women, just stating the facts). Management has been in their position for 15+ years, so no new ideas, set...

    Advice to Management

"Doing the right thing" culture is not for customer only but for employees as well. Doing the right things is not dictated by wall street or investors. Otherwise don't call it "doing the right thing". If you care to listen, then listen, do you really think a once a year "speak up survey" is enough? How is it working out? What does the high turn over rate tell you? You can do much ... much more.

I have been working at JetBlue part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Work from home Flight benefits

    Cons

Micromanaging Extremely strict with your hours (can’t miss a minute of your shift you have to make up for every missed second) You have to always be on your phone in order to trade shifts, read emails, training, taking time off, etc. this is a 24/7 job. Super annoying you can’t take vacation u less trading and even on vacation you are required to read all the emails and be up to date with everything. There’s never...

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees. Stop micromanaging. Understand that most women you hire are mothers and have a life, otherwise start hiring people who can be flexible enough to work all day long. No one can. You expect your employees to work any time any day when in reality that’s not possible. Stop changing your software and pretending that’s a good thing because they are worse and they don’t work. Update your software to...
