Toxic and Overworked

Pros

Some nice colleagues, summer Fridays.

Cons

-Lack of work life balance. -Client accounts are understaffed. -While there are some great clients management will also take on sketchy/questionable clients. -Slow track to promotion, if you're not an employee favorite by upper management, don't expect to move up the ladder here. -Upper management likes to boast about the "great" and “unique” company culture that the firm has, but does nothing to instill that culture across the firm. If by "culture" they mean long work hours without a promotion or a shoutout for your hard work on a weekly company call, then sure. -Workplace gossip from the top down. -A handful of upper management discusses topics that lack a professional boundary line with colleagues in company social settings.

Pros

- There is a good work life balance - you will be out the door before 6:30 PM daily. - Many of the clients are start ups which allows you to get involved in some interesting business and opportunities - There is a lot of camaraderie among the junior staff

Cons

- There is extreme turnover, in both staff and clients. (In two years the roster for both changed dramatically) - The senior management team takes out their personal aggression on the juniors in such an unprofessional manner. - The company says "they work lean" but it only means the accounts are understaffed and - The CEO is so focused on his new business that he does not pay attention to the needs of KCSA as an agency - The partners walk around the office screaming obscenities like they are in a frat house rather than a business setting - Daily arguments and screaming coming from management on the office floor which leads to daily tears from the junior staff - Management would rather throw juniors under a bus then work on a solution to help and benefit the clients - The egos of the partners are really the worst enemy of the company - they will cause this agency to either get sued or eventually go under.

Toxic Workplace

Pros

If you’re just out of college, KCSA is a decent place to learn some basic PR skills but don’t expect to be treated kindly.

Cons

Very toxic workplace. There is little room to grow unless you become buddy buddy with the senior management that has been at KCSA a while. Work-life balance does not exist.
