Pros

Some amazing co-workers who are truly amazing at what they do. Kind people to work with who care about you like family. There are some top-notch managers that will elevate your experience level and push you to be the best you can be.

Cons

I loved working here when I started. It was a great place, great atmosphere. Then as the company grew things started to fall apart. Too many people were hired, then had to be fired. It created tension and a lack of job security. I'm unsure about the experience for others, but getting a raise was like fighting tooth and nail for. The sudden growth led to the company culture falling apart. Those who created the original culture became more and more out of touch. The company began to turn into a classic agency that overworks and underpays due to leadership being out-of-touch.

Pros

Good place to get a start as a designer - I learned a lot about production and good design practices. Generally a pretty fun place to work, flexible with schedule, casual environment, benefits are pretty good as well.

Cons

Management was terrible which lead to low moral. In my experience managers didn't support, communicate or listen to their team as much as they should have. Poor communication all around, in regards to performance and just general work flow – a lot of time was wasted simply due to bad communication between departments. Quite a few conversations took place behind a computer screen via email or IM, instead of face-to-face which lead to confusion and miscommunication. There was also no chance for upward mobility in the company, they very rarely promoted from within, had quite a bit of turnaround, didn't take the time to train new employees and didn't make an effort to keep good, hardworking, talented employees.

Pros

KPS3 has a diverse company culture. It's what you would expect from a tech-ish company -- social activities with colleagues, ping pong table in the basement, beers in the fridge, etc. KPS3 employs many smart and talented people, and it's a great place to learn the ins and outs of various aspects of marketing. The pay was meh but the benefits were good.

Cons

When I started at KPS3, it was great. But the agency grew too quickly for its own good. People were promoted into management positions with little to no training, and it showed. Underqualified people were hired and often fired. Workloads were often overly demanding, leading to a poor work-life balance. Projects were often pushed off until the last minute, which left little time for review and edits and ultimately gave way to poor quality deliverables. There was an underlying competitiveness that made for an uneasy atmosphere, and people were often fighting against each other for raises and promotions. KPS3 was built on strong values, but I feel that several of those values weren't embodied by the time I left.
