    I worked at Kang Chiao Bilingual School full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Pay is reasonable for location. Good ability to save money. Nice invremental raise every year. Standard holidays.

    Cons

    Fairly poor student ability. Staff turnover. Very bad management. Stressful and toxic environment at times. School is located in a suburb of Shanghai, very little to do if you are a single expat- means lots of weekend trips to Shanghai.

    Followed the American common core curriculum, had a structure in place for lesson planning, legitimate campus and opportunity to teach fluent English students

    Little training for new teachers, concern for profit over the needs of students and teachers, untrusting of foreign staff

    Lack of effective management. Teachers are told to make changes without explanation or training. Too many unqualified teachers who resist improvement.
