    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Kelton full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Opportunity to learn a lot if you are just starting out Great clients, interesting projects Smart team mates to learn from and work with Variety of work

    Cons

Founders like many small business owners can’t lead - they rely on salesmanship and charisma and questionable ethics but have a chaotic management style, poor communication skills and don’t know how actually lead. They can’t set a clear direction or stick to it long enough for the senior team to execute. There is a lot of talk about culture, but little actual care given to cultivating it.

I worked at Kelton full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Global, big brands with exposure to C-Suite clients - The mid-senior employees who work there are exceptional in terms of both intellectual output and personality - an absolute pleasure to work with and socialize with

    Cons

The company is completed outdated in terms of culture and management. They peg themselves as a "creative" company, but having come from advertising - the working environment is anything but creative. Employees are unnaturally fearful of management and afraid at times to leave the office to grab a coffee with a coworker and run the risk of looking unproductive or uncommitted to the work. Those that succeed are those that are either at the VP level or above or are employees that started as interns and have grown up working there. As an outsider who has worked at a number of companies with exceptional cultures, it was difficult to understand expectations or processes as they are't clearly laid out. As an employee, you feel siloed without much collaboration or cross-functional interaction - elements inherent to a creative environment. The company needs to take a serious look at how other companies are structured, managed, and most importantly - treating their employees. It's no surprise that the turnover rate is 30% which far above industry standards.

    I worked at Kelton

    Pros

Great working environment. People are very self-motivated, resilient, and friendly.

    Cons

Difficult to start with as there isn't a very informative on boarding experience. It takes a lot of guesswork to figure out how to best contribute.

"Great Environment, Cool Projects, Start-up Mentality"

I have been working at Kelton full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    • The people + culture. From day one, I’ve always felt supported by everyone here. The environment is the opposite of a “dog-eat-dog” agency culture. VPs are willing to get their hands dirty, leadership is approachable/not intimidating, and everyone is genuinely nice to each other. • Recognition. If you work hard and do quality work, you’re going to get recognized for it. Standards are high, but success and growth are not un-achievable. • Work Perks. Great benefits, flexibility, office snacks, happy hours, exercise programs, retreats – Kelton has all of that. • Cool Clients. For a company of only around 100 people, Kelton has some really big-name clients, and every project is really interesting/challenging.

    Cons

    • Start-up mentality can sometimes cause headaches. There are plenty of times where you’ll have to do things that are outside of your job scope, and often there aren’t structured processes in place. If you’re looking for a structured environment, you probably won’t be happy here. • There are times where you’ll be insanely busy, and times where you have a very manageable workload. There’s a lot of fluctuation here due to project-based workloads.
