I have been working at Ketchum full-time

    Pros

The name value of Ketchum goes without saying - you get great access and exposure to high-level clients and projects. Lots of company perks - flexible working, wellbeing. A lot of the people you work with are definitely some of the sharpest minds in the business, a lot of great people to learn from.

    Cons

Lack of clear progression for junior staff, it can feel often that you are not progressing or developing as quickly or as well as one should working for such a name brand company. Pay at junior level is not great for the amount of time and energy expected to go into the work we do. Communication between teams and across the company should be better. Criteria on promotions is not clear. Can be a "university" type environment at times, social boundaries could be more professional. Often seems those that shout the loudest get noticed the most. Need to develop industry specialisms better so junior staff can hone and refine specialist skills and expertise eg. digital, crisis, sustainability etc.

I worked at Ketchum full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great female representation within the senior ranks of the organisation who are an inspiration in the business world. Great benefits available to staff as well as great office location and office environment.

    Cons

The longer I stayed, the more I felt an air of two-facedness and favouritism amongst the senior leadership team. I found it difficult to navigate the political barriers. I worked in a lean team so found it difficult to be more strategic as I needed to spend so much of my time doing the role of someone more junior.

    Pros

Sociable culture, great clients to work on with opportunity to work and experience different clients.

    Cons

Account work flow can be pretty uneven meaning that sometimes you can leave on time but other times you’ll have to work late or on weekends in order to manage.
