Pros
Looks good on the CV as it is a very successful company on paper. Graduate trainee programme trainees always do well but is often resented by others unfortunately. However that won't matter as you are protected by management and have a regular audience with the CEO.
Cons
Politics - senior management in each business pursue their own agendas. No customer focus whatsoever, evidenced in online product reviews. Too focused on acquisitions in order to satisfy shareholders Staff turnover, particularly in sales, send individuals to entire continents with no local office support, then let them go a few months later for not selling enough. Customers are sick of sales manager churn. Customers can't get speaking to staff, often even to achieve a price list. While undergoing a performance review during a redundancy round; I explained I had saved £120,000 on an overhead i.e. I have paid for my salary several times over. I was told that's great but that I wouldn't save a further £120,000 the next year so it didn't count. Luckily I got a new job. Reporting - multiple disjointed CRM / Excel pivot table reporting in each division, no systems integration. Staff are told 'we are an English speaking company and all customers are expected to speak English', I think it's a disrespectful assumption. There are many more issues but I believe others have said it all. I worked in three divisions and several countries in my time there so I got a good (bad) experience of the whole business. I got one incremental payrise in that time, always on a promise.
