I have been working at Kink.com full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I've worked at kink for almost 12 years and I've seen the company grow and change in many ways. The pros include - catered lunches, flexible schedules, unlimited vacation, relaxed atmosphere, creative coworkers, profit sharing and last but far from least dog friendly, I've found HR dept to be responsive and professional in all my dealing with them and our CEO/Executive team keep an open door policy with staff.

    Cons

We no longer operate out of the San Francisco Armory it was and remains and incredible space- some would say this is a Pro however.

I have been working at Kink.com full-time for less than a year

    Pros

dollar to dollar match 401K plan, great benefits, super nice people, transparent communication, amazing leadership, room for growth, they hire within, I feel so lucky to be here.

    Cons

The cons I have are a societal issue, not a Kink.com issue.

I have been working at Kink.com full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Decent Benefits (small company rates these days) Great 401k with some Employer matching Catered lunches 4 days a week Killer office space that doesn't scream TECH OFFICE IN SF Monthly happy hours and stocked fridges Super open minded and tolerant employees and mgmt Top notch work life balance Dog friendly! I've advanced from an entry level temporary employee to a trusted and reliable member of the technology team where everyone has a seat at the table and a voice. I've been able to thrive in positions and opportunities that I'm not entirely sure I would have ever been afforded the chance to attempt in many other places and I'm truly grateful. The people here are so fun and interesting that it doesn't feel like a chore to come in to the office every day.

    Cons

Workload is laid back, which is great, but you have to wonder what we could do if we managed to get some more momentum into a state of 'flow'. The company has undergone some major changes in the last few years, so I suspect we're in a state of reformation. The team is small, (but mighty) so most people where a lot of hats (not a con if you prefer not to specialize). The tech stack is growing, but a few popular tech words aren't so much a part of our day to day. While we stay abreast of the latest tech that is applicable to us, we're not exactly bleeding edge (which some might say contributes to our current stability)

I have been working at Kink.com full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Who doesn't want to work in a porn castle, seriously? Even now, after the castle is sold, you still get greeted by porn robots and all sorts of toys when you come in. What's not to like? This place is a haven for creative, interesting, and weird people, and we have more queers working in one place than I've ever encountered elsewhere. Management here has also been pretty good about staying out of your way and letting you do your job.

    Cons

Its sort of the wild west here, and that can be a bit intimidating for less independently-minded among us. We could also use more ethnic diversity. Peter can also be a bit of a handful, but he's pretty much out out of the picture, now.

I have been working at Kink.com full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Watching the evolution of this company in the 4 years I've been employed here has been inspiring. Our current culture is very supportive, inclusive, and compassionate. We are enabled to take care of ourselves and each other which helps us to produce the best work we can. Communication (between individuals, departments, teams) is comfortable and open, there is a high level of respect among each other regardless of educational background, and there is a balanced level of support and encouragement around growth. Many facets of the culture and internal processes here are constantly improving.

    Cons

The location is simply not my favorite, parking is expensive.

I have been working at Kink.com full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

So many pluses about working on the tech team here: much more focus on diversity/acceptance/awareness than the majority of other tech companies out there, a true top-down commitment to work/life balance, a willingness to hire & grow junior engineers, working on scaled (aka non-startup) products with an actual revenue stream and a large active user base, amazing CEO with a strong technical + marketing + industry background, management who will support you & have your back, the opportunity to work closely with other (rad!) departments at the company instead of existing in a tiny technology bubble, and - last but not at all least - helping to further the important & amazing company mission of providing ethical + high quality adult entertainment to the world.

    Cons

While there is a lot of formal team knowledge sharing & support around developing technical skills, there is not the same focus on developing managing/leadership skills. As can happen on a small team, there are always more projects than humans, and it is easy for individual projects to become very siloed.

I have been working at Kink.com full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've been at Kink.com for just about a year and a half, and it has kept getting better to be here as time has gone on. I've seen past reviews here on Glassdoor that have been very negative, and was aware of some of the issues that tech folks were having several years ago, but my experience has been 100% positive. The new CEO is smart, trustworthy, kind and committed to making this a fantastic place to work. The tech team is: - Diverse - Generous - Honest - Supportive of each other personally and professionally, and totally willing to hep each other learn - Accountable - Solution-oriented - Funny - Kind The new offices are a huge upgrade over the cold, drafty Armory, spirits are running very high with renewed energy in the executive team as well as with marketing and engineering endeavors, and the tech is kept very current so it's a great environment to learn the latest/greatest. A lot of effort is being put into cross-departmental interaction as well, so each month the overall team feels more bonded and more like a family. I look forward to Mondays and the fun challenges each new week brings.

    Cons

Really the only thing I can think of is that the team is fairly small and unlikely to grow hugely over the next few years, so if you're looking for a big advancement path or to be part of a large and growing company, this may not be the ideal place for you. Personally I prefer it and have always worked in close-knit smaller companies.
