I worked at Kokoba Ltd. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

My colleagues in customer service were actually all very bright and clever people. HR tries to offer little perks, there were cinema nights and Friday beers and decent socials.

    Cons

The company struggled a few times, in my time there there were 2 waves of redundancies, the last one cut 50% of the workforce. Another before my time. This cycle seems to be on endless repeat and means a lot of stress and insecurity for everyone. Not a climate for ideas and change to flourish. In general there is not much room for innovation and there are no opportunities to learn or grow or climb the ladder. Communication top down is bad and managers generally don't seem to trust the staff. Departments don't talk to each other. Marketing planned promos on their own it seemed, purchasing knew nothing of and did not get extra stock in. CS were the ones calling all the disappointed customers. Things finally seemed to change in 2018 with a new CEO Jeremy S., but he left and it went downhill again.

I have been working at Kokoba Ltd. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The idea and visions of the co founder Andrew are wonderful and I truly believe MedicAnimal could be a wonderful employer. You learn a lot, MedicAnimal being active in 5 European countries.

    Cons

Sadly, the vision got lost in greed fo fast revenues. The customer is not goal, but means only. Decisions are made by a chosen few, the rest is invisible. If you bring in ideas and creativity, you are a nuisance. Stick to what you get told, otherwise het told off. No structure, no communication. A sustainable answer to why the customer should choose to buy at MedicAnimal has yet to be found.

    I worked at Kokoba Ltd.

    Pros

Passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable team. Very thorough and detailed business value proposition, which enables the company to have a focused direction.

    Cons

Bottlenecks in management, not receptive to alternative perspectives at board level, which does trickle down to the front line. Out-of-way office location, situated in warehouse.

I worked at Kokoba Ltd. for less than a year

    Pros

An internship at MedicAnimal is like a pressure cooker: You'll be exposed to a lot of knowledge and responsibilities in a short period. The fact that they serve multiple markets gives you the opportunity to learn a lot about marketing other European countries.

    Cons

Communication within the company, not a lot of team activities, very short term focused.

I have been working at Kokoba Ltd. full-time

    Pros

The place is blessed with great staff...who tend run away rather quickly unfortunately. The idea the business was founded on is quite inspiring and makes you want to believe you're working for good people...

    Cons

You're not working for good people! Since the new MD arrived late last year the place has culturally deteriorated...the company is only focused on KPI's and achieving unrealistic expectations. No support, no retention measures, no start-up-feeling, no vision, no 'cool factor', no staff benefits etc etc!
