Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at Kurt Geiger part-time for less than a year
Pros
You get a good discount off products.
Cons
A lot of standing around, some days you would not get even one sale, then you would get abuse for it. You get thrown into the deep end and asked to manage a whole store on your own without a manager or other staff after two weeks, with expectations to eat your lunch in a stock room on an 8 hour shift just in case someone needs anything. Bullying in the work place . Lack of help from higher management and impossible to get hold of- I was poorly once and spend an hour trying to get hold of someone and didn't manage to, then got into trouble for not letting anyone know. Little respect or care about problems you have and other priorities you have. Over the top for what the job role is. You have to do a lot of training and fill out multiple booklets just to be a sales person. If in a department store, you end up being watched and forced to help other departments then end up being bullied by them for not doing stuff on your own section. You have to act robotic in the way you approach customers.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at Kurt Geiger part-time
Pros
Nice shoes and good discount.
Cons
A lot of work to become a ‘brand ambassador’ when only a 4 hour part time job. Also management expect you to go above and beyond with their shifts and don’t have reasonable work life balance ideologies when it comes to their staff. Management need to take responsibility themselves, not blame others for shortfalls and endeavour to actually train staff properly.

"Lack of strategy on the ecomm department - Head Office"

Doesn't RecommendNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Kurt Geiger full-time for more than a year
Pros
Decent offices, free toast and good discount. They also do offer free lunch every now and then, so that was pretty good.
Cons
In my opinion the ecommerce department is not very well managed. There is no thought out into making a roadmap for the teams which leads to a lot of people doing random work and a lot of waste. There seems to be no overall strategy on the direction the teams should be going or any strategy at all. Some things are just being done because someone heard in a senior meeting or because some senior staff member has suggested. This made day to day work very hard to navigate and I’ve found people were not held accountable when things went wrong. There is a lot of great people in the team and very talented individuals. However, these seems to be a trend of rewarding the wrong people to senior roles. These people often fail to lead, being overwhelmed and too scared or overtaken by imposter syndrome. Another issue is that there are a lot of time spent on building new features or whole projects internally instead of focusing on their bread and butter (the websites). Rather than creating in house solutions for everything, some things would be better off by just getting an off the shelf solution. A result of that is that teams get overloaded with these new projects and there is no strategy from anyone how to carry on with “business as usual” work. This led to a lot of tension between the development and the marketing team. There are truly great people to work with but because of all the above, is very hard to stay motivated on your day to day and actually do your job. These issues have a direct impact on the work you do!
