I worked at Kurt Geiger full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Not sure where to start! I worked for Kurt Geiger just over a year in Head Office, was the best year and taught me so much, management was the best management and direction I have ever experienced. You get so much exposure at Kurt Geiger, the directors and executives are truly inspirational!

    Cons

None at all, was a great place to work!

I worked at Kurt Geiger full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great freedom in managing your own schedule, unless something arises. Great opportunity to be creative. Great visions from director and area managers, just needs to be communicated properly to all of the VM team. Great new store openings a refits. Travel opportunities. Amazing colleagues in stores. Some great managers that want to help you progress.

    Cons

Lack of structure in this role. What department do you belong in? It can leave you feeling isolated and left out as you are not a part of head office or a store. Not a good role if you are looking for a team unit. No feedback or reviews for progression. Unfriendly culture in head office. Unorganised, lack of communication. Unprofessional. Favouritism. Low pay for a 'luxury' brand. No benefits. Shoe quality insanely poor. Publicity stunts to show they are a lovely caring, inclusive business, in fact the opposite.

I worked at Kurt Geiger for less than a year

    Pros

The head-office is very new and trendy. There are company meetings every few months that all staff are invited to, it makes you feel part of something and you get to know what other sectors of the business are doing.

    Cons

The management in the Shoeaholics team is disorganised. It definitely lives up to a start-up way of working. There is very little creative freedom. The design team lead didn’t allow designers to take ownership of their work, I felt that this holds you back in developing ownership skills further in this environment.

I worked at Kurt Geiger part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Discount and free uniform with each season (that's if they organise it for you)

    Cons

Contacting Head Office was never achievable, Management favoured certain staff members which made for an uncomfortable environment, and benefits are only good when they are granted, and there were long periods of time where you would be on the shop floor by yourself.

    Pros

discount, if you ever actually get it

    Cons

They do not care about their employees I worked at Head Office, not once did HR or a manger ring me whilst I was on furlough for six months. Continuously extended my probation period so when the time came for making redundancies they could get rid of me with no notice. Claim the company is doing great, even donated all the first month profits to the NHS but then make mass redundancies and claim Covid has set them back 10+ years. It is not a good atmosphere to work in, everyone in head office is cliquey and will not give you the time of day if you are new. I truly would not recommend working here, you are much better going to another brand that will value their staff and treat them with respect.

I worked at Kurt Geiger full-time for less than a year

    Pros

•sometimes run incentives for free stuff

    Cons

•head office are near enough impossible to get hold of - no one responds to emails/answers calls and they clearly don’t communicate very well with each other •not really any employee ‘benefits’ especially working in an outlet •if anything is going to cost the company money they’re not interested - even if it could improve the overall running of the business and customer experience •stock sent was sometimes unmanageable and when this was highlighted we were told to get more staff in to get it away - the problem was not the time to put it away, but the fact that we had no room to put anything in but they refuse to take old stock away that we don’t even sell anymore to make room. •need to invest in a proper customer service team whose job it is to actually provide customer service instead of directing them back to store - it’s very hard to run a store during peak times whilst having to try and go out the back to answer the phone constantly to try and deal with customer query’s; it’s too time consuming and isn’t beneficial for the store •regularly understaffed as you’re expected to work to ‘core hours’ all year round which just isn’t suitable especially during busy periods like Christmas and penalised if you go over hours - more hours should be allocated to busier times of year. •takes months for them to give you the money back that they owe you for expenses when you go cover at another store •the till system is awful and not fully functioning for the store (you can’t use gift cards on it) and it’s run by an external company who are also awful and don’t know what they’re doing •everything is old and outdated e.g the system used to confirm delivery is from the 80’s and just takes up too much time to use •no work life balance as I was constantly receiving phone calls/messages on my days off •would never waste my time shopping/working here again

    Pros

Last Friday of each month finish at 13.00 Summer Fridays early finish (July/August) Free breakfast (fruit/toast). Occasional free lunch. Central location.

    Cons

Zero training and support to new starters. You are thrown to do things without any help. Company has no training structure or learning courses from HR. No 1:1s or regular catch ups with line managers. Rude managers, impersonal realationship. Some managers have no management skills or even basic human skills. High turnover due to being such a bad place to work. There is no company culture. Worst experience in retail London head office.

    - Staff Discount - Some staff members are friendly

    Cons

Kurt Geiger in Harrods is the least luxury place to work in, infact KG is not even Luxury, Management speak to you like you’re a child! I haven’t been paid in over 3 months, head office avoid speaking to you and cut the phone. Worst place ever. Girl in the KG office is rude rude rude! Doesn’t even apologise for her error, which results in me not being paid for months.
