I worked at L'Oréal for less than a year

    Pros

    - lots of responsibility early on, if they see potential in you you take on lots more - Great people. of course it depends on which team you are working with but for me, it really made the experience! - Learnt new things every day, job was never monotonous

    Cons

    - it can be a very stressful job, and clients + other teams are very demanding, they always want the work for yesterday, something you have to get used to and be able to handle and push back - unfortunately you have to pay for food which at most jobs at least tea and coffee is free... - Sometimes people are SO busy that it may be difficult to get time in with your manager. but depending on who the manager is, they will...

I worked at L'Oréal for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere good job perks like staff shop and charity sales good intern social activities lots of responsibility really good intern salary no day is boring

    Cons

Level of responsibility may be too much based on which department you are in, which can sometimes be stressful (as expectations may be too high) - but this varies based on job role sometimes interns don't get the praise they deserve based on their hard work

I worked at L'Oréal for more than a year

    Pros

I worked full time as a Marketing Intern for 1 year from Jul 2015 - Jul 2016 + Regardless of which function you're in, you'll likely be exposed to all areas of the business and have plenty to learn (marketing, commercial and sales, digital, legal, PR, logistics etc.) + Lots of real work and responsibilities and opportunity to make a big impact. + Management and colleagues are very open to your ideas, and don't...

    Cons

    - The pros above reflect ONLY my experiences, so might not be reflective of your own. I know interns who've had a very different experience, in terms of the difficult of tasks, friendliness of their team, how busy they were, and the impact of their work - Prepared to work really hard under lots of pressure. L'Oreal is like an FMCG on steroids, where you're chasing cycles and the work never stops - The culture of...

    Advice to Management

Induct the interns thoroughly into your team so many feel lost in the first month. Encourage them to find out what areas and skills they want to develop early on, and encourage/help them to get in touch with other staff in the company.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at L'Oréal for more than a year

    Pros

    - Character building - Certainly a learning experience - You get real responsibility - Staff shop made it worthwhile

    Cons

    - Very unbalanced work/social life - If you only speak English, learn French if you want to progress further than 50k salary - Expect to be a scapegoat if you're an intern - If you have a problem, the last place you can go to is HR

    Advice to Management

Not enough inspirational/helpful managers. Most are very stuck in traditional management styles, which has been proven unsuccessful. The best managers in the company work without the hierarchical nonsense.

I have been working at L'Oréal for more than a year

    Pros

Really great people, really fun to work with Fast paced, always something happening Not particularly hierarchial, if your ideas are good, they'll be heard Lots of opportunity

    Cons

Can be quite intense atmosphere Working hours are 9-5, but rarely get out before 6 Not necessarily a particularly organised place

    Advice to Management

Allow more time for people to settle in. Allow interns to worksmart Make sure no one is left out
