I worked at L'Oréal for less than a year

    Pros

    - International environment - New brand strategy with high-skilled colleagues and access to many tools to better understand marketing

    Cons

    - A mission not in line with what proposed during the interview - A lack of support sometimes from managers

    Advice to Management

    - To better think about the needs and the human resources to fit these needs, because some teams are overstaffed, other are understaffed

I worked at L'Oréal for less than a year

    Pros

I got a lot of hands on experience, learned fast and was able to create a new product for my intern project. The employees were all really empowering and everyone was able to work well as a team. There were also a lot of cool perks about the job and the new building in Chelsea is beautiful!

    Cons

The majority of the time your job is just preparing for the next meeting. The employees work 12hr+ days most of the time and there is a lot of pressure for presentations. They say they are implementing a SMART program for employee work-life balance, but the departments vary greatly in work load and pressure.

    Advice to Management

Management was good overall, but they could maybe focus more on brainstorming sessions instead of pushing for the next slide deck.

    I worked at L'Oréal

    Pros

L'Oréal is the world leading skin care & cosmetics company and you will be able to observe the operation of this big multi-national company. You could understand how a beauty brand works under cooperation of marketing & sales team. And more importantly, you could learn time management, multi-tasking and practical analytical skills. Good experience.

    Cons

You have to work under fast pace environment and sometimes you might be stressed if you could not manage the timeline of your tasks well. Many people are working until very late to catch up with tight deadlines.

    Advice to Management

Everyone in the company is super busy especially the management team. You may not be able to get timely feedback and evaluation from the management team.

I worked at L'Oréal for less than a year

    Pros

    - You get quite a lot of responsibility from the start - The culture is very open, people are friendly and there are a lot of fun activities for interns - You get paid quite well (compared to other Dutch internships), also free products

    Cons

    - Not many possibilities for career advancement, especially international - The marketing is not very creative, as it's mostly adapting the materials from the HQ

    Advice to Management

Offer open roles to current interns who might not have finished their internship yet. Organise more joint activities for both interns and regular staff.
