I have been working at LSE full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Many administration staff are helpful and genuinely concerned about ‘putting students first’. I’m sure this is the majority of staff.

    Cons

Many are quite useless. Unable to do their jobs with any degree of competence, ignore the plight of students, exceptionally risk averse to the point of utter stupidity, and reduce everything to box-ticking exercises.

    Advice to Management

Better performance management of staff, based on student feedback. Time to clear out the underperformers. Management to stop black boxing poor decision making at more junior levels. Oh, and also, please think through the implications of new policies before bringing them into effect. Or, perhaps actually consult with students/staff, instead of making silly decisions in a vacuum.
