I worked at Ladbrokes full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked with some great people. It was a learning experience and improves everyone’s customer service ability as so many different people come through the door, you never have the same day twice.

    Cons

As you are dealing with people’s money, when they lose they are not always nice about it. With training and experience you learn to have a thick skin and realise it’s not actually you.

I worked at Ladbrokes part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Can be flexible with hours when worked there for a long time

    Cons

Some days working 14+ hours on your own, management are completely oblivious to human needs and focus on numbers/safety of money over workforce's happiness and welfare. The customers can be extremely rude, dangerous and threatening, had to call the police on over 20+ occasions, sometimes multiple times a week. Management calls and asks if the safe is shut before asking how staff are. Good job for a hardy student who doesn't mind being threatened by customers and under managed by well paid pencil pushers.

    Advice to Management

Sort yourselves out. Think of the staff and their welfare. Horrific place to work.

    Cons
