I worked at Lifestyle Sports part-time for less than a year

    Pros

•They hire people with no previous retail experience • Small staff discount (but over my time there they never let me use it...)

    Cons

    • Management are bullies and on a power trip. They are all really young and have no idea what they are doing. They were very poor at communicating, CONSTANTLY made mistakes on our roster and came into work hung over regularly. They would often stand behind the tills on their phones when the store was busy and then complain that we (the sales associates) weren’t doing enough when we were literally ran off our feet. • The pay is poor. •They supply you with a cheap t-shirt as your uniform. You have to buy a pair of shoes the store sells and leggings to wear as part of the uniform. This costs a small fortune, especially considering you only earn around €7 an hour. • The sales associates that were there before the newer staff would often bully them. This was a serious issue I experienced and witnessed almost on a daily basis. They would ignore the newer staff when calling out shoes for customers on the radio. • A “team leader” asked me to WORK AN EXTRA HOUR FOR FREE on two occasions! • Some of the older staff hated new staff. One time I called out a shoe for a customer on the radio the person on the other end got extremely cheeky with me and said “Yeah emmmm told you to go ahaead and call that shoe out like 10 minutes ago so I’m not doing it for you now. You can wait in the que I’m doing everyone else’s before yours” This was the first time I’d called for the shoe and the man who was looking for the shoes was so horrified by how she spoke to me he actually got up and left and told me I shouldn’t let anyone speak to me they way she did. He couldn’t believe how unprofessional it was and said he wouldn’t give money to a store with staff like ours.

I worked at Lifestyle Sports full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There is a 20% staff discount.

    Cons

Zero worklife balance, you are expected to be in the store all the time. Do everything, be accountable for everything. Compete against unrealistic goals and put up with RM's that have some form of amnesia constantly. e.g "why did you do this, this way?" "You told me do that last week." "No I didn't. do it this way", "But that is the way I wanted to do it and you said it wouldn't work". Really unpleasant working environment. Money is also terrible.
