Lighthouse is an ethical practice that reinforces the importance of being an ethically sound provider. The support I have been provided since starting is better than I've ever received. There is opportunity to grow within your skill set as there are voluntary trainings monthly and supervisors are readily available with clinical support. The CEO is open and accessible when needed and keeps true to her word. Lighthouse isn't a place that says what needs to be said to get you in the door. They are a place that is honest and wants to put qualified professionals in the field.
Cons
Mental health can be a challenging field so have a good work life balance is key.
-Amazing supervision
-Able to create your own schedule (but don’t be fooled, you will be working 5-7 days a week until at LEAST 9pm)
-Trainings every month
-Amazing way to gain invaluable experience
Cons
-Toxic perfectionist environment
-Expected to bend over backwards to meet 30 hours a week no matter the barriers that are out of your control
-Barely any compensation for mileage
-Only get minimum wage for paperwork hours (and you have to work 7+ billable hours to get allotted ONE hour of documentation pay - even on weeks when monthlies, ISPs, discharge paperwork, etc (which all takes forever to complete) are due))
-The hours are terrible (sometimes working 12+ hours including drive time)
-Clients can be anywhere from 5-45 minutes apart
-Overworked and undercompensated

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear this position wasn’t the right fit for you. At Lighthouse, we take pride in delivering ethical, high-quality services while creating a supportive and collaborative environment for our team.
Our employees truly matter to us, and we maintain an open-door policy to ensure every team member feels heard and valued—we take all concerns seriously. We offer regular supervision, coaching, and training to support professional growth and success.
To support our community-based staff, we reimburse mileage. We also work hard on the back end to assign clients as close to your home and other clients as possible, and we only serve within a 25-mile radius of the office.
The schedule for Intensive In-Home services is designed to be approximately 6 hours of client care per day, plus up to 2 additional hours for documentation and travel, which aligns with a standard full-time workload. A crisis response component is part of the role and is clearly explained prior to hire—it applies only to your assigned caseload, and we do offer coverage when you're unavailable.
Our documentation pay is meant to be an additional bonus. Staff are trained in collaborative documentation, which is reimbursed at the regular hourly rate.
While community-based work does come with unique challenges, we aim to set every team member up for success with full caseloads, flexible scheduling, and strong support. We appreciate your time with us and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
