I worked at LivingSocial for more than 3 years

      Pros

Amazing people, nice office in the best location, good salaries, good opportunities to progress if you got in at the right time (which I did) - free bar was a bonus too and I have friends for life that I met at that bar on a friday night over a pint of wine.

      Cons

Higher management was pretty clueless. Management structure in general was skewed, with people with no experience whatsoever acting as directors as they were friends with each other. The Ops management were all pretty ghastly, imagine the loud, irritating, insular, patronising gang of teenagers you used to know and then imagine them in middle management positions within the same company....backstabbing, sly digs and limited...

      I worked at LivingSocial full-time

      Pros

Good people, amazing location, strong performers rewarded well, good pension, medical insurance etc, start up days meant lots of room for development

      Cons

Never managed to nail a successful structure for senior management, not through lack of trying. An almost entirely sales exec team being ultimate downfall with no strategy, execution or attention to detail. Business failed.

      Advice to Management

No longer relevant, UK business sold and carved up by competitor. Bloated management made redundant but too late for independent success of the business.

I worked at LivingSocial full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

It was nice to hear that the business used to be a good place to work consistently, but there were none really! Maybe the pay off at the end

      Cons

Destructive UK CEO (Roland) Poor salary Field guys run there own cars Ever changing commission to the point where it wasn't worth it Giving power to internal kids who don't know what they're doing Consistent and persistent lies to sales staff Ruining the staff Christmas party by telling the whole LS workforce they were poor compared to Wowcher.

      Advice to Management

Stop lying to staff Don't expect anyone to be loyal
