I worked at LivingSocial for more than 3 years

    Pros

Amazing people, nice office in the best location, good salaries, good opportunities to progress if you got in at the right time (which I did) - free bar was a bonus too and I have friends for life that I met at that bar on a friday night over a pint of wine.

    Cons

Higher management was pretty clueless. Management structure in general was skewed, with people with no experience whatsoever acting as directors as they were friends with each other. The Ops management were all pretty ghastly, imagine the loud, irritating, insular, patronising gang of teenagers you used to know and then imagine them in middle management positions within the same company....backstabbing, sly digs and limited managerial support is what you got. Unfortunately there was an air of unease for the last year or so I was there, and shortly after I left the company closed. It felt like a sinking ship, everyone tried to smile and carry on but realistically we all knew LS was going down. I will never forget the brilliant memories and times I had there but it's a shame it had to end like that.
