I worked at Lloyds Banking Group part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great pay & benefits Flexible working

    Cons

I was part of MBNA when it was acquired by Lloyds. The way the group has grown it is very fragmented. This structure result in lots of inefficiences and errors. It is very difficult to find the correct department / person to resolve issues. Also, Lloyds pay lip service to mental health but actually don't have procedures in place to implenent good practice. I have witnessed many collegues struggle with mental health due to job insecurity.

    Pros

Flexible working Overall good colleagues to work with

    Cons

Extremely risk adverse to a fault Bureaucracy can see a contractor out of a job Renewals are always troublesome and cause stress No IR35 reviews being done as per legislation

    Advice to Management

Create a working environment to allow outside ir35 contracts as many other financial institutions are doing eg Starling Bank. Ensure Renewals run smoothly
