      Pros

From day 1 a senior analyst acted as my mentor, we had weekly meetings every Monday morning disucussing the previous and upcoming weeks of work. The first week of the placement year overlapped with the placement year I was replacing, which was planned for them to pass the work over to me. After they had finished there was a couple of weeks of job-specific training, which for me was learning SQL coding as well as more intermediate aspects of Excel. Flexible working available, placement students provided with laptop for when working from home. Internal pathway on to graduate scheme available, this will be brought in to conversation a couple of months before you finish.

      Cons

Some other placement students felt like there work load/responsibility was too low, however I was always busy enough and felt valued by my team, so this all depends on which role/mentor you are assigned.

      Pros

LBG offers working from home and flexible working hours which is great for work life balance.

      Cons

Contractors aren't made to feel welcome by permanent members of staff. Seating arrangements are terrible, seated super close and sometimes not even finding a chair, power supply or even desk.
