Nice steady job but no progression. Would work there again... if I could come in a more senior role.

      Pros

Stable working hours, excellent work-life balance, good culture and environment. Team are all very experienced and willing to share knowledge. For what it was, pay was very good with excellent bonus potential - if you hit Strong/Top which very few people do.

      Cons

A lot of people who coast as they're looking at a redundancy payout one day and have no interest in performing. A lot of apathy. A lot of people ask questions t avoid doing anything. Politics around ratings means everybody is a Good and there's no recognition of outperformance. Those that are already paid more thus continue to be paid more because it runs to a formula based system. Zero progression opportunity and I mean NO PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITY - whole time I was there known nobody to progress upwards past a Band E in any form.

      Pros

Good to have on CV, decent name in commercial banking space. Okay in terms of development and good work life balance

      Cons

Well Below market pay, no meritocracy. Below talented staff get the good jobs. Lots of bureaucracy. Attracts frustrated graduates that could not get into investment banking that want to leave for the better banks. Toxic work enviornment for graduates.

Good for British, terrible for foreigners

      Pros

      - Decent salary according to market standards - Work-life balance

      Cons

I had to leave because during pandemic Lloyds treated us unfairly and they didn't care about our mental health. - They fired 3000 people giving them really short notice. - They cut bonuses, but not for all of us. - No career progression. They don't promote people fairly. - They say they want diversity but they didn't let foreigners work from their home country. A few more senior colleagues though spent months abroad without any issue. If you are non British and you want some flexibility, at least for short term, don't choose Lloyds. Also, work is so repetitive and you cannot make a difference in there. Stakeholders never accept yours solutions and your work is wasted. If you want bureaucracy and slow progression choose Lloyds. Otherwise, stay away!

      Pros

Work life balance with good pay. Company has been promoting focus on diversity and inclusion, colleague wellbeing. Many people with long tenure as a result.

      Cons

Recent redundancies and no bonus but not surprising given this current environment.

      Great people, good development opportunities

      Pros

I completed 2 internships at Lloyds, one in corporate affairs and one in markets. My team were great in both internships. Lloyds has a good amount of investment in its people, and the atmosphere is usually very nice but can be team dependent (as with any company). During the internship program you join alongside many other interns (Lloyds takes all its interns in at once, over the summer). Accommodation paid for. Great cities to work in (London, Bristol, Edinburgh). Overall very pleasant experience

      Cons

Slow to change. I think this is because the company is so large and imagine it would be similar at other companies too. This is a mild annoyance at worst though, doesn't really impact day to day work. Work life balance really depends on your department and whether there are deadlines. My entire internship in markets was not great for work life balance but this is very typical of market roles across all financial services. You will know this if you're interested in working in financial markets. Some bad locations (halifax) but most are good (see pros)

      Pros

People Reward Package Flexibility for home work life balance before they decided to try and bring everyone back into the office.

      Cons

High management trying to make a name for themselves without understanding the needs and complexities of the business area and their ability to do the work proficiently whether or not they were in the office or working from home. Area I worked for moved from a very flexible work life balance, working from home, to a situation where I would have to travel to either 1 of 2 locations outside of my acceptable commute.
