I worked at Loblaw Companies part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great environment. Staff is very proactive and willing to help on your needs.

    Cons

Due to its fast paced nature, employees are not allowed to sit anywhere, being somewhat uncomfortable in some situations. Low payments also prevent commitment of the employees, having so many absense, which impacts on the work of the others who are there.

I have been working at Loblaw Companies part-time

    Pros

At my location, they let me have a very flexible schedule. As a high school student that was very useful, as I was able to work reduced hours during exam time and take time off in the summer for cadet camps without any negative consequences. They also let me exclusively stay in the customer service area after they trained me for it. Since we're in a union, we always get our breaks and always at reasonable times. My managers were pretty great too (some were not but they got fired lol).

    Cons

The job isn't the most engaging thing. In fact, it's really boring and repetitive, but at least it's not super physically tiring except for having to stand in one place for up to 8 hours (hurts more than you'd think). Also, I know it's not their fault, but I only got paid student minimum wage even though I worked there for almost 3 years. I get that I wasn't 18 yet, but it's still not fair seeing as I was trained more than most other colleagues and I was doing the same if not more work, just getting paid less cause I'm younger. gimme a break I'm trying to save for university.
