I worked at Lockheed Martin as an intern

    Pros

The office had a great community feel. I learned a lot while I was there. By the time I left, I felt like I was prepared for a future career within the aerospace sector.

    Cons

The workload was sometimes too light which resulted in me feeling slightly underappreciated as an employee.

    Advice to Management

Challenge the interns a bit more. You might find it surprising of what they're capable of if given the chance.

I worked at Lockheed Martin as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Work with smart people
    - Flexible hours (not a strict 9-5)
    - Interesting work

    Cons

    - Lots of paperwork/bureaucracy
    - Lengthy onboarding time
    - Some skills learned while working there are only applicable internally

    Advice to Management

Had a great manager while interning there, no additional advice to give

    Pros

Lots of hands on, they put a lot of trust in you

Antiquated, could use a more youthful perspective.

    Advice to Management

Seek to be innovative and unique.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people here are very helpful and want you to succeed. They understand that you don't know everything, and are willing to set aside time to explain things.

I also like the Agile software development approach, as well as the huge emphasis this company puts on being ethical.

The ability to move around to different areas, not only within the single site, but also the entire network.

The evaluation for promotions is performance-based, which I feel is most fair.

    Cons

Since we are working with legacy code, we are not at the cusp of new technology. In certain areas, they are, but not with software.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I have been working at Lockheed Martin as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Lockheed Martin is an extremely organized, well-oiled machine. For any newcomer with little experience in the professional world, it can be overwhelming how much you learn in the matter of just three months. Everyone, for the most part, is very warm and friendly despite the militaristic feel of this company. It is a very good job out of college and there is a prosperous future for LM.

    Cons

There is a bureaucratic nature to business, which can be good or bad. There are no windows in the facility, and parking can sometimes be a pain.

    Advice to Management

Have more open and honest conversations with your employees on whether or not their job is satisfying to them.

I worked at Lockheed Martin as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - competitive pay
    - meaningful work
    - decent benefits
    - I was fortunate to be on a fun team
    - Every other Friday off is great
    - good pto
    - potential to work on cool products
    - secure job

    Cons

    - don't show great interest in employees
    - justify that they can't spend extra money on employees because their government contacted, but then the execs get juicy bonus checks for cutting down costs
    - for an innovative company they are resistant to change, even with the new focuses they put out

    Advice to Management

Invest more in your employees. If you want to attract and retain new engineers, you will need to add a few more perks (occasional free lunch, free snacks, etc...) this can boost moral and show your employees that you care.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin as an intern

    Pros

Every other Friday is off. Initial salary is high, intern wage is above average. As an intern analyst, it's good exposure to a professional company with really friendly staff that want you to succeed.

    Cons

As a financial analyst, some engineering and Program management leadership don't pay attention to the work that you do weekly/monthly to help them be more efficient, which can be demoralizing, but analyst team definitely cares.

    Advice to Management

to listen and try to implement implement concerns of the business and operations side.
