    I worked at Lockheed Martin

    Pros

I learn some new technology during this project

    Cons

I worked as a contractor in Data Warehouse project for one of the biggest public body. The management was extremely bully as following: - Constantly criticized me, constantly fiercely rejected all my ideas and suggestions. I was shocked by the fact that such a huge system is designed by a Lockheed Martin's employee who has no relevant experience. - Spreading nasty rumors and made dismissive remarks when I spoke...

    Advice to Management

Listen carefully to reporting of bullying. Or be prepared for a high turnover.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Talented people! Work is very interesting Learn a great deal on governance and risk Salary Some teams are very friendly and welcoming if you work in the right place Once you have networked, built trust and established yourself it can be a good place Flexible working but not on the whole what they prefer

    Cons

No UK leadership. Not inspiring. US led. You have no context for the internal comms in the UK. No Induction process to the organisation. Induction to your programme is dependant on you manager and often poor. Nothing planned to help you. Not very welcoming to new people. Do not like it if you joined at senior level Most programme directors are old school and want to eye ball you every day in the office. Not into...

    Advice to Management

Need to address middle management. Staff are demotivated and have no inspiring leadership. Managers need to lighten up. Be real and authentic. Smile once in a while at staff and build relationships with their staff.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Many locations to choose from and many jobs available. Salary and benefits are reasonable, but usually on the low side of the industry average.

    Cons

Most jobs are concentrated in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. (I suppose that's not bad if you like that area...) As a large government contractor, bureaucracy is rife and terrible. Raises (beyond the laughable "merit increase") are rare, and promotions even more so. Job security often tied to a contract. Training funds seem to be a myth. Expect to pay for any training out of your own pocket.

    Advice to Management

Basically, do your job as a manager. Know what your employees actually do. Praise them for good work and champion their ideas and efforts with senior management (or government customers).

    Cons
