      Pros

+ Genuine, knowledgeable, friendly, passionate workforce. + Flexible working hours and patterns. + Good benefits. + Opportunities to experience work at other LM offices. + Good mentorship opportunities. + Quality of compliance training has improved over the years.

      Cons

      - Total lack of local autonomy; every decision must flow up and down the leadership chain, leading to painfully slow decision-making. - Training hard to come by unless it is critical for your job. Even then, you have to fight for it. - Inflexible customers; difficult or impossible to move projects or have time to do side-projects if you are fee-earning. - Empty promises from leaders, especially visiting MDs. They will take your concerns and promptly forget about them. - Technical positions are overwhelmingly male dominated. - Business unwilling to take any risk; any initial investment will be minuscule. - Business unwilling to pay for technical leaders (SMEs). - Promotion difficult unless you mix with the right crowds. - Poor appraisal system. You may be given commitments that are totally out of your control, and even if you surpass your year's expectations don't expect much for it. - Leadership overly reliant on people perceptions instead of actual performance. - Slow to react to new technologies.

      Okay place to work

      Pros

Good benefits and pay. Great flexible working time and every other Friday off. Additional programs to enrol on once employed although they are competitive.

      Cons

Can easily get left behind. If you manage to get on one of the development programs then you're looked after and your development is a high priority, if not then it's difficult to make an impression.

      Pros

Working for a Lockheed Marting will ensure you have no shortage of challenging work but the vast majority of people are capable, the expanding UK footprint of the company provides job opportunities which are rewarded with , reasonable to good benefits.

      Cons

Long hours are not uncommon and with challenge comes pressure and demands. geographical mobility in terms of working at other locations is also required at times. Pay is reasonable to good but there is no bonus scheme

      Solid Company

      Pros

To keep this short and sweet. We get good pay, good benefits, and good work. It'll never be be "perfect" job, because it's so large they can't mold it to your needs. Understand that it's a massive company with all the associated struggles. Beyond that, there are plenty of opportunities, but you have to learn to look for them and take them. LM will not hand you opportunities on a silver platter.

      Cons

If you want fast paced, long hours, and high pay then go somewhere else. If you want to work a solid job and with solid benefits and time then go to LM.

Great Place to Work and Getting Better Quickly

      11 Jan 2021 - Data Analytics Manager

      Pros

I've been with LM for some years now. It's always been a great place to work - fascinating problems to work on, great sense of mission centered on national security, good pay, good benefits, and plenty of autonomy in my work. The company is getter better too, and has been at an accelerating pace over the past few years. We now work just 4 days a week for 10 hours a day, telecommuting is strongly encouraged, there's generous PTO, and the company is quickly modernizing its workflows. In a year, I might be looking to give the company 6 stars!

      Cons

The only con I can think of is a certain amount of inconsistency across the enterprise in terms of company culture. LM is a big company, and in some respects, a collection of companies. Regardless, it seems folks' experience can be heavily influenced by their team - do they have a good leader or bad, does the team work together or compete, etc. The company tries to encourage consistent good behaviors, but there is still some variation, and not all teams are as positive as mine have been.
