Pros
It's a great tool that is used by many big logos, great exposure, a tool for solving real problems.
Cons
Over hired at some point, and did not have enough sales leads for everyone

Pros
Good flexibility Humble and smart team at mid management and individual contributor level
Cons
Lokalise has really lost its way, there are constant changes at a leadership level, consistent poor hiring decisions leading to poor decision making and terrible management and delivery. The leadership and management team is dominated by men who have little interest in supporting the needs and requirements of women or other groups. Multiple women on maternity leave have been laid off, the only female VP left and it seems that many women in the team have been affected by the constant layoffs disproportionately. The leadership team are barely involved with the day to day running of the business and so have no pulse on the reality on the ground. Yet it seems they take no responsibility for the multiple commercial failings. The leadership say one thing and do another so they have completely broken the trust and morale of all employees. It's sad to see how such a great company and culture has been so destroyed in such a short space of time.

Pros
1. Pay and benefits are pretty good 2. There are some really talented people who are willing to share their time to help you improve
Cons
While there does seem to have been a good culture of collaboration and mentorship among the original engineering team, it feels like Lokalise hasn't done a very good job of integrating the large number of new hires over the past year or so. One major concern is the lack of accountability for toxic behaviour within the company. Several instances have been brought to management's attention, but no action has been taken, which creates a negative work environment. Here are a few examples I have personally encountered: 1. A manager belittling and shouting at team members either for perceived failings or simply for voicing a different opinion. This individual continues to hold a managerial position despite their behaviour having been known for many months. 2. Some engineers seem to disregard their responsibility to develop junior team members and fail to effectively collaborate with their colleagues. They prefer to work independently and avoid communication with the rest of the team. This hampers productivity and teamwork. 3. Another review had mentioned misogynistic behaviour. We recently had a diversity and inclusion session which, it seems, a fair number of men in the engineering department were not happy about. During the meeting there were constant interruptions to attempt to "disprove" some of the very reasonable points mentioned. It was to the extent that the speaker, who had been invited as a guest to speak to us, became visibly uncomfortable. To top it all off, one individual took it upon themselves to start talking (unironically) about how the woman's place is in the home. All of these people are still at the company having apparently not faced any official punishment or censure.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We take feedback seriously and have begun investigating your first example. If you feel comfortable sharing more information, please get in touch with james.corfield@lokalise.com, and he will have a confidential 1:1 discussion with you to better understand what you’ve seen in the business. One of our company values is, “Support one another. Thrive together.” It is important for all members of Lokalise to not only contribute their individual skills and expertise but also foster an environment that encourages growth and collaboration among colleagues. With regard to your last example, we want to make it clear that any form of misogyny or harassment within the organization will not be tolerated. We do recognize that on the diversity, inclusion, and belonging front we have improvements we can make, and it’s a key focus area for the company. Each Lokaliser is at a different stage of learning, and we will continue to help educate them on this critical topic.

Thanks for the feedback and it's great to hear you love working for Lokalise. We actively encourage Lokalisers to meet up and provide a monthly allowance so you can work in co-working spaces but we recognise that your colleagues might not always have access to the same co-working spaces particularly if they're in another country. Additionally, your manager will be given a budget so team face-to-face meetings can be arranged to encourage individual and team learnings. Pros
I love the fact Lokliase is a value-driven company. I really get a sense that the co-founders, Nick and Petr, are really passionate that employees buy into the values. Being a remote-only company, I like the fact I can work in an async environment and therefore, find a great balance between work and the rest of my crazy life. As you would expect, processes, systems and resources are constantly evolving but I like this - it keeps things interesting and no week is really the same. Overall the people are just lovely human beings.
Cons
Typical growing pains of a scale-up e.g. constantly changing processes but again, I see that as an opportunity.

Pros
Lokalise has all the energy and drive you would expect from an ambitious start up but the culture and feel is significantly different. It's more like a community with a shared view on important life values like being honest and being kind. Being ambitious but also staying grounded. Much less corporate than other start ups I have worked with.
Cons
Yet to find any. We still have stuff to improve on and make better but that's all part of the journey.

Pros
The product is a successful one that helps all sizes of companies to scale. The work environment is fantastic, especially if you thrive in a remote context with async practices. The company's culture is strong with clear values and a very fun atmosphere.
Cons
None, really. But it is a fast-moving place. If you have never worked in a tech scaleup, an initial shock might be expected. Things move fast and change even faster.
