I have been working at Los Alamos National Laboratory full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Exciting and industrially relevant research projects, incredible peers that challenge and collaborate readily. Phenomenal emphasis on maintaining work life balance and pay that is actually commensurate on expertise.

    Cons

There is a lot of work to get things moving. Trainings, paperwork, etc. mean you don't get to get started for the first month or two. Lots of tight security and other (well warranted) restrictions can slow things down from time to time.
