I have been working at Magellan Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fair compensation, good benefits, good life / work balance. Very good management. Nice work environment. Many work from home opportunities.

    Cons

Many holidays are not observed by the company. Sick days come out from the paid time off (PTO) bank. Hard to grow.

    Advice to Management

Management is great (at least in my department). Managers very talented, and are very approachable and open for comments, observations, suggestions, etc.

I have been working at Magellan Health

    Pros

Great team setting, support, and use of updated technology. Opportunity be work remotely, not always in office. Great supervisors. Much training and support to prepare you for your role. All benefits are automatic, no wait period for retirement vested investment. If you have PTO and ask in advance, 95% of time it's granted. Great work and life balance. A good amount of non work activities to uphold a good culture.... Great advancements for liscensed nurses and masters level clinicians.

    Cons

Remote workers tend to not get a feel of office setting/culture, but it up to them to get involved with office activities. Lack of advancement for degrees that are not nursing or masters level clinicians (LSW, LMHC, etc.) at least in miami. Other than that it is a great company and office, and sad to leave,

    Advice to Management

Please make it clear in job descriptions that licensed are required. Provide numbers or percentages on performance to motivate employees either in becoming better or explaining how great they are doing. Provide trainings that could help others advance in company in order to retain great employees that are motivated to stay.
