    Advice to Management

    Pros

    Easy training (paid)
    Great pay
    Lovely Staff
great benefits for seasonal work- staff shops with reduced price food and flowers

Have to ask to be given more work to do so can be boring
Older/better experienced staff get away with doing much less work which is unfair especially when the shop was busy or during tidy up in the evening

I have been working at Marks & Spencer part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I am a student working as a Customer Assistant part-time:
    Pay is great (8.75 p/h)
    20% discount
    Friendly colleagues
    Hours are good
Any issues, managers/section co's always there to help

    Cons

For a 6 hour shift, I get a 15 min. break which I am now used to but can be quite short

    Advice to Management

Clearer communication to customer assistants, especially part-time members of staff - but otherwise everything is great

No exit interview, led me on to believe that I had a job afterwards when I didn’t, staff discriminate against people with illnesses

I worked at Marks & Spencer part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good training, friendly employees (like a family), professionally run, very well organised from the interview through to the induction and training. Each work day was well planned, I knew exactly what I was doing and where I needed to be. Staff discount card 20% was brilliant.

    Cons

Cannot think of any, just a brilliant working experience. Sadly I was only a Xmas temp and would have loved to have stayed on if there had been any vacancies. : (

    Advice to Management

Perhaps ensure the staff discount card is issued quicker, took 3 weeks to get mine.
