    Pros

    Better pay than most of UK supermarket.
    Yearly increments
    20% discount..
    Refreshments
    Training.

    Cons

    Physical work.
    Repetitive
    Some managers can be very rude.
    Holidays will not be approved on many occasions.
    Very complex absence procedure. They will make you work even you are sick.

    treat coworkers with respect.

    Pros

    Great team to work with
    reasonably understanding with shift and timetabling
    always enough staff on shift with you
    discounts available to the staff

    Cons

    received minimum wage
    had to work early hours 5am
    shift times varied a lot
    spent many hours working on the till and not stacking shelves which I prefer

    Great work atmosphere, everyone is friendly - though this isn't the case at every store
    Good pay for the job
    paid holidays

    Cons

    Management heavily frown upon being off ill and will treat you noticeably worse as a result
    understaffed as a result of trying to cut costs

    Advice to Management

    Employ more people instead of forcing over time
    Be more reasonable when someone is unwell

    They care about the staff unlike some employers and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Good salary. M&S make you feel worthwhile.

    Cons

    I don’t have any cons about this job as shown by the reasons above, highly recommend working for them, especially as a first job.

    Pros

    Good pay, staff discount a bonus too. Opportunities to move around the business.

    Cons

    Long shifts. A lot of ‘older staff’ don’t really do too much, and rely on new or younger staff. That being said there is a real sense of being a part of a family.

    Advice to Management

    More employees needed - especially during Seasonal sales period.
