I worked at Marks & Spencer part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very good pay, staff were very approachable and friendly. Diverse working environment.

    Cons

The main source of communication between managers and staff is through Whatsapp, where they post rotas, events etc. – a bit annoying when you don't like to use the app.

    Advice to Management

Have more forms of communication between managers and their staff.

    I worked at Marks & Spencer part-time

    Pros

Good hours and opportunity to get overtime if available, good holidays.

    Cons

The atmosphere of the store could be very clique-y and unwelcoming, with neurodiverse employees often feeling alienated. Despite claiming to be an company who had an understanding of equality measures and diversity, I would often hear manager's dismissing their employees mental illnesses and disabilities instead of trying to understand and adjust to their struggles.

    Advice to Management

Please make sure you educate your managers and section co's on mental health and disabilities so you can create a more inclusive atmosphere for future employees.

    Cons

Very long hours working in operations- hard work and sometimes lonely. Disagree with the amount of food waste and disparity between hours worked in departments (operations understaffed and overworked, foods overstaffed and underworked)

    Pros

    Fantastic people that work there.

    Cons
