I have been working at MasterCard as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Extremely helpful and outgoing employees - Regular advisory and informatory sessions with senior figures at the firm - Internship is planned to give interns a general idea of the firm's various businesses, expanse and operations - Corporate social responsibility activities are part of the intern program

    Cons

    - The business is considerably risk averse, which may make it less lucrative for young job seekers - MasterCard is not the biggest player in the payments industry - Friday's are basically "half-days", which can be a pro and a con depending on preference

    Advice to Management

Management is doing everything to maintain its position and grow as well. However, competition is stiff with new players entering in the industry and established firms dominating as well.

I have been working at MasterCard as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not very stressful job. Friendly coworkers and atmosphere. Upper management was very interested in my personal growth which was unexpected.

    Cons

Older company. Aimed toward those with families. Decent commute from younger areas of St. Louis

    Advice to Management

Start moving towards newer technologies if you want to consider yourself a sexy tech company like you're trying to sell yourself to be.

I have been working at MasterCard full-time

    Pros

401K is awesome. Standard benefits otherwise.

    Cons

They took the "Do more with less" concept too far.

    Advice to Management

Hire the right amount of people.

    Pros

Good place to work with interesting problems to tackle. I learned a lot about computer programming and analyzing large amounts of data that was helpful for advancing my career.

    Cons

Located outside of New York City. The commute was very long and it can be slow moving at times to get simple things done. The management team can be helpful if you have the right one.

    Advice to Management

Give employees more ability to communicate with managers. Allow people to choose how to tackle problems more freely. All in all it is well run and the Chief executive officer is a very smart guy.
