    Pros

Not many to name this is really a terrible company and would advise anybody to seek employment elsewhere. I guess the hours are okay. They also offer flex time.

    Cons

"Less work for more money." That's a common theme for the people that leave Maxim to work for another company. We have terrible benefits for a healthcare company. The culture is terrible. Mass layoffs. Rumors of the company going under. Its really just bad all around.

    Pros

Teaches you so much about the industry, and they primarily promote within.

    Cons

Long hours and starting pay isn’t great, but if you’re a good employee you can move up in a decent about of time.

    Advice to Management

    More training to new managers.

    Pros

Fast pace environment. Every day is different which keeps things interesting.

    Cons

Seems to be a lot of red tape to make simple changes to how we grow as a company.

I have been working at Maxim Healthcare Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Training is better than at other agencies.
The local management team is supportive.
If you take the time to learn about what they offer, life is good.

    Cons

If you allow it they will work you to death.

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to hire good local managers and then let them do their jobs.

I worked at Maxim Healthcare Services part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The administrative/scheduling staff is supportive and accommodating. They offer training and wonderful opportunities to earn CEUs. You can somewhat make your own schedule if you tell them what you're looking for. Great to work for per diem or part time. The work itself is not acutely stressful but you better be ready to know what to do in case a emergent situation arises.

    Cons

The pay is pretty low in my opinion. Although work is easy, it's not a place you make a career out of if you wish to specialize elsewhere. Very minimal nursing skills required other than shift assessments. Lots of patients with GTs and some trachs. They require you to attend a yearly skills fair so you don't forget them.

    Advice to Management

Offer skills fair 2-3x a year...maybe have the 2nd and 3rd as optional. Some tend to forget these even after a couple of months.

I worked at Maxim Healthcare Services part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company provided thorough training during the orientation process and was very hands on and available to answer questions in the field. Retraining and review of procedures was always available. Always at least one staff member at the office to close out the day turning in meds and completing paper work.

    Cons

    *confusing set up instructions
*often provided wrong site contact information
*flu clinic site often ill informed to our process/often had to explain why we were there and how we worked
*administrative staff had little to none nursing background
*be prepared to start your shift with chaos, putting out fires, and troubleshooting set up
*company does not provide guidance or leadership unless asked; which opened the door for some squabbling in the field as to who was in charge or knew what was going on

    Advice to Management

Someone from management should always show up with the nursing crew to make sure every thing is set up and ready to go. Don't leave it to the nurses to figure out. Rotten way to start a shift.
